This blog will be about all the bands that are better than Rise Against.
my ears bleed everytime i listen to them. here is a list of the bands that are better than them: guns n roses, aerosmith, metallica, system of a down, slayer, slipknot, led zepplin, ac/dc, anti-flag, avenged sevenfold, the beach boys, the beastie boys, black sabbath, blue oyster cult, bob dylan, bob marley, bon jovi, boston, breaking benjamin, buckcherry, the champs, the clash, dead or alive, deep purple, def leppard, disturbed, the doors, duran duran, elton john, europe, goldfinger, green day, the guess who, the who, hawthorne heights, hinder, jack johnson, jimi hendrix, john denver, john mayer, john mellencamp, journey, kansas, kiss, loverboy, lynyrd skynyrd, modern english, motley crue, motorhead, nirvana, ozzy osbourne, pat benatar, pearl jam, pepper, pink floyd, poison, the police, queen, rammstein, the ramones, the red hot chili peppers, the rolling stones, rush, scorpions, sex pistols, soft cell, starship, static-x, steve miller band, subliome, wham, and zz top.
Just to think of a few that are better, but have not already been mentioned:
Bob Seger, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Chumbawumba, Dragonforce, 5 for Fighting, Green Day, Linkin Park, Lupe Fiasco, Marvin Gaye, Mungo Jerry, Nickelback, Quiet Riot, Simple Plan, Staind, Styx, Survivor, Switchfoot, Thin Lizzy, Tommy Tutone, Trapt, Twisted Sister, U2, Van Halen, Velvet Revolver, White Stripes, Wild Cherry, Yes, and Billy Talent....NOT!!!
pfff... MY ASS THEY SUCK! FAT ASS! rise against is a politicial band and there is NO FUCKING WAY that the bands your saying is better than rise against!!!!!!!!!!! Just b/c your a fucking ugly republican George Bush-worshiper, does'nt mean that you can say shit about the best band that has ever hit the face of the earth. rise against is better then any of those bands that you put up there. By the way, I'm gonna take you off of my friends list.
Your just jealous b/c tim mcilrath is hot, a good singer, and is awesome. Joe Principe is the best bassist in the punk rock history, Brandon Barnes is the best drummer in the world, and their guitarist is the best guitarist in Punk rock history. Your skills can't possibly match up with his.
ah, children... Everyone says that Rise against sucks, but no one seems to say or perhaps KNOW, why Rise Against sucks.. Its my personal opinion that Rise Against is a quite good band and they actually point out whats wrong with the US. Theres not many bands that actually dare to diss america... Well, they do if its popular, but Rise Against has actually stood behind their opinions. Which makes them awesome in my book. So please stop acting like children and bloody come with a VALID argument.
I like Rise Against but LuvJimiHendrix gives people a bad impression of people who like Rise Against.
Unfortunately most fans are probably like her but I think they're a good band.
Rise Against sucks because their songs sound like they were written by 4 year olds. Is that good enough? The way the singer phrases his lyrics against the music is usually in direct rythym with the drums, which is something children do when they make music because they don't know better (yet). Usually by the time a singer "makes it" they realize the lyrics have to "float" over the beat, not reinforce it at every chime of the metronome. One popular single in particular ("prayer of the refugee") features a chorus that is simply (and suddenly) double time (and double loud) from the verse with stacato vocals screamed above everything. Now, you CAN change tempo in mid-song with success (listen to the last Stars album), Rise Against just has no idea how to do this. To make matters worse the lyrics seem to be written from the mindset of an angry frustrated child:
Don’t hold me up now,
I can stand my own ground,
I don’t need your help now,
You won't let me down, down, down!
They sound like a parody of "angry tween" rock.
Is that enough "valid" reasons why Rise Against sucks?
Oh- and here is one more. I had no idea they were an "issues" band. Clearly they're not even able to copy the success of RATM - who was CLEARLY an "issues" band from the get-go. The difference is that RATM didn't decide to be an "issues" band to make up for lack of musical talent.
