Today, I got over a HUGE hurdle that has been my learning block for over 2 years now, if not since I got going with the Fretboard Logic SE book so long ago.
Today, I've gotten down the knowledge of all 5 M7 and m7 chords one needs to learn when learning via the CAGED method, in order to know all the other chords in these sets. So I'm overjoyed. Now maybe by the end of this summer I can really begin to start actual music theory... maybe. Who knows, maybe I might be able to go beyond that by then!!!!!!! Cross your fingers and pray to your god for me .
Ok, how many times in life can one start over? lol.
I've completely scraped the concept of learning any more music theory.
I've been trying to find an "end" through learning the means to the end, instead of the "end" itself ("a means to an end")... and I am not going anywhere. So now I'm going to start something different:
I'm learning pieces of music and songs, and that's all I'm going to work on for many more months to come (besides looking for a job that is, lmao).
A GREAT online friend of mine is shipping me a new pc ! All I have to do is put it together. He's even gonna walk me through the parts I don't know in putting it together (which shouldn't be much, cause I know my way around a pc somewhat better than your average pc user. (not as much as others though, nowhere near as much as those types).
My music practice should take off now that I have Guitar Pro 5.2 thanks to another friend. I'm also gonna start practicing more songs and less theory for a short while, so that I can get some songs under my belt. I don't know any songs all the way through just yet.
Yep, I'm back. Well, I have limited access to the net now anyways.
Well, I havn't had much happen sence the last blog, but my inprov did improve a bit. lol.
But I've done lost all that practice I did on the C7 scales after learning the C set. BTW, I can now create any triad anywhere, in any inversion. Thank god for The Complete Idiot's Guide to Music Theory!
Cya guys and galls around here in the coming days .
I am sad to report that untill I can get the phoneline back up, I won't have access to the net to give you guys reports and updates much more. Work progresses as normal. By the end of the month, I'll have the C set scales down all over the neck I hope.
Recently I got all 8 "C major scale boxes" down... I know there are more beyond the 12th fret, and also there are other boxes that are within the first 11 frets that aren't covered by the Fretboard Logic series, but I'm working on the ones presented. I not only got all the ones presented down, but they are all up to my old speed cap of 16th notes at 80bpm. Tomorrow is going to be fun .
I wonder how some of the tabs that used to be hard are at least somewhat easier now that my speed is up?
I got up to 120, and I'm going so fast that I need to just stop here for a while and rest up... And by rest up, I just mean get used to being at 120bpm.
I think I finally got exactly how the FBL system is so damned revolutionary... I' ve been trying to get into expanding the C set scales , but I forgot to check FBL on the shapes and such... oi... needless to say, I'm going to check that out a lot today and for the rest of this month .
Man, I'm starving with no job, and mom ain't got one either... guess it's off to interfaith ministries for food untill we can get a job..
Well, 108bpm was reached today, and I worked on expanding the scales more again. We may finally be without roommates soon, though I like em, it's a bit much at times... plus the money issues with this is just way out of hand...
