jimmy, the one wrote on May 25th, 2008 12:36amif you like RHCP, listen to the early music of the band 'Incubus'
their bassist, in my opinion, is much more interesting to listen to than Flea
give them a listen to, anyway quote |
WhyLater wrote on May 17th, 2008 10:51pmOh dude totally. VM Jazz, can't go wrong. The thing's hot. I haven't played a VM P-Bass though... and I hear they're more sketchy. But that Jazz is the kind of bass that you'll never look at and go "Yeah, it's good, but I wish it could do this." It's the kind of bass that can be used for about anything, and has got beautiful tonal color.
Yeah, there's a reason it's so popular. If I wasn't so strapped I'd have gotten myself one long ago. I say try one out if you can... you can probably find one at a music shop around. quote |

WhyLater wrote on May 4th, 2008 10:22pmOk, don't know why I didn't think of this.
Dust In The Wind - Kansas
Also, I'm not sure, but I think Jimmy Page does some kind of hybrid picking on Babe I'm Gonna Leave You. You might check that out. But definitely Dust In The Wind. quote |

Hey off the top of my head... I'm 90% sure that Bron-Yr-Aur by Led Zeppelin is what you're looking for. Might be kind of hard if you're just starting your fingerpicking though. But even harder than that is Bron-Yr-Aur Stomp by Led Zeppelin.
I know what you're thinking. "But WhyLater, you just suggested the same song to me twice!" Au contraire, good sir. There exist two completely different songs.
Bron-Yr-Aur
Bron-Yr-Aur Stomp
Don't ask me, ask Led Zeppelin.

WhyLater wrote on May 3rd, 2008 9:35pmYeah dude, my best friend is a guitarist, and he's kind of a blues-rock kind of guy. He told me earlier this year that I should listen to more White Stripes, and I don't regret it. Great to experience what a man can do with a guitar, his voice, and an elementary drummer. And a whammy. Definitely a whammy. quote |

Hey there.
It's a guy called Jody Fisher - from what I gather from the video, he's a jazz guitarist who has done a workshop on it. |
Cool he's really amazing.

Pretty good, it's my cousins old one but I can't complain. I'd like to get a new guitar some time this summer though.
