I been jamm'n guitar for 25+ years. I write my own music/lyrics and of course notation. I like to drink cocktails and lift weights. I'm a bartender so I see many bands play and I see good and bad talent (or lack thereof). The most important thing about playing any kind of instrument, is the dedication to practice it. Most people are not dedicated enough to sit back and do scales all day. Practice will only make the best better! Ask any fighter, if you are a world champion boxer, you still have to train and be focused for your next fight, the same dedication applies to your practicing. One of the best guitarist that ever lived (Randy Rhoads), while on tour with Ozzy Osbourne, Rhoads would seek out classical guitar tutors for lessons, he was a devoted student of classical guitar; that's dedication! So all I can leave you with; Have fun with it, focus on improving your skills each day.
