I wish the neck was a little thinner, but besides that, I can't think of anything I'd change with mine (although, I would make it a stoptail rather than having an FR on it, but that's just cos I don't use it, but it's stayed in tune & been fine so far ) quote |

I'm glad to be able to discuss with someone like you, I like the fact that your opinion is not shrouded in fanboyness or anything like that. And I'm willing to know more about this kind of music I obviously don't know a lot.
You're a really cool guy.
Cheers, mate!
P.S. Sorry for my poor english, I'm a french canadian. quote |
JeanMi36 wrote on May 21st, 2008 4:51amYou know, I'm not some kind of elitist who judges music styles and/or tastes.. I'm not really a fan of this genre although I kind of like Dream Evil.
About the European black metal, I've seen the documentary made by the metalhead who owns a sociology degree on metal. (I'm pretty sure you have seen it.) I've seen the different mentalities. After doing some research afterwards, I realized that very few metal bands do promote violence and bloodshed, and these themes are way more covered in gangsta rap and things related to that. I even discovered pretty neat songs, like Megadeth's Victory or Metallica's "one", which are both great.
Don't mistake me, I'm not some kind of closeminded fool or some kind of religious freak (I'm atheist),li I just don't like Darkthrone's "Vatican in Flames" or songs like that. I know that some gore bands are writing these kind of music to shock (Hell, I'm a Marilyn Manson fan), but some kids can take all these things seriously and that's the danger. quote |
