Satriani is a guitar god in so many levels. Fluency, solidness, phrasing, feeling, blending, theory.. whatever. I saw him in '06 G3 Tour in Sydney with Vai and Petrucci, and recently saw him here in Syd on his solo tour. It was a freakin experience and a half. He has that 'channeling' ability like Hendrix had. Seeing Stuart Hamm's bass solo came as a bonus...
And lets not even start on how much of a guitar god Slash is not... |
Satriani live? I'm oozing jealousy.
I haven't gone to a gig I haven't played at in a long time...
...not since I stopped livin' in Melbourne, anyway.
So that's, what, about two years?
My father's off to see Billy Joel, and The Angels are playing around here, but I think I'm about twenty years too young to start loving that shit.
What'd you think of Chinese Democracy?

My name is......well, Josh.
I respect Slash for how he has influenced the guitar world.
But he isn't a guitar 'god', as he has been labelled.
True guitar gods, like Satch, never seem to get recognised.
Check out Still Got the Blues, or Walking By Myself by Gary Moore.
He's really the veritable epitome of unrecognised guitar gods.
Drums are a fun instrument, though as I've mentioned before, I had my brilliant producer Tim do the drumming on my CD, as I play more John Dolmayan-esque drumming, whereas he has been playing for 30 years or so, since he was 6 or so.

Likewise - my girlfriend got me singing a few years ago...I learnt guitar only about 22/23 months ago, but because of the amount of I play (over 50 hours per week), the gigs, the resources...I'm not the result of a very good player, I'm the result of a very dedicated player.
True story - I learnt keyboard while waiting for my girlfriend to get out of the shower...

Satch is the greatest guitarist alive. Period. |
Somewhere, that overrated bastard Slash is reading that and weeping.
And drying his tears on Satriani's yearly salary.
Something is very wrong...
