One more exam and I'm done with education (university). It's going to be very strange; if I'm not working, I can enjoy Christmas and the spring (or any day) without worrying about not preparing for an upcoming test. It'll be strange to see what I will actually do for my first actual job, and compare it to all the times when I was young thinking "What do I want to be when I grow up" and think "Man, how naive was I?"
I guess I'm happy with a short term view of the future. If I think about it too much, there's job applications, preparing for the big world, etc. and the self-realisation that I have no idea of what I have to do. There'll be tough times (you'd be a fool to think there wouldn't be), but at least I got the music to help me get through it all. Whatever happens, one thing is for sure; my music will be by my side and I am eternally grateful (for the upbringing, the lessons, the knowledge, everything).
Well, it’s been another musical moment in the year 2013. First the beginning of the year saw releases from BVB, BFMV, Wednesday 13, etc. Now these…
Bring Me the Horizon released their album Sempiternal which seems to have made a massive impact.
Stone Sour released Part 2 of the HOGAB. The only thing I regret about the album is that it’s not as heavy as I was expecting. But, as long as the music’s good (which it was), it’s fine.
Fall Out Boy released their newest album, since their hiatus, which seems to be popular, but it’s not really rock and roll, isn’t it…? Ironic album title…
Thy Art Is Murder released their album Hate (not sure about the date of release), but it sounds epic (IMO).
Love and Death (featuring Brian ‘Head’ Welch) released Between Here and Lost (the album should be more popular imo). In fairness, it was released some time ago.
Leading nicely on, Korn is back! Their new album is said to come out late summer (makes up for the absence of a Slipknot album I guess…. The trailer shows that Welch is back in the band and the music is sounding like their old self (not the dubstep music….
Falling In Reverse… What to say. Well, after Radke’s stupid gesture (of throwing mic stands at an audience), the single ‘Alone’ doesn’t help the bands reputation. Born To Lead, Honesty and (I believe) Rolling Stone sound pretty good, although it was from a live recording. There’s hope yet… The album is being released in July (I think), so there’s some time left.
Well, I wonder what the end of the year will bring? More music from other leading artists? Possibly. We’ll see…
Black Veil Brides have just released their album and it is sounding great! It's been getting great reviews, especially from Kerrang (yes, I listen to Kerrang radio - because it's the only radio channel that plays some of my favourite music) where it's album of the week.
Bullet For My Valentine's release date is coming up, just over a month left to wait. I can't wait for the album because I want to know if the rest of it is better than 'Riot'. I heard 'A Whole Lotta' Rosie' and it sounds good, so there's still hope. 'Dead to the World' is also sounding pretty good, but it was a live recording.
Bring Me the Horizon have released their first single of their album 'Sempiternal'. The single's called 'Shadow Moses' and I think it's fair to say that they keep getting better. The release date is still, unfortunately, unconfirmed.
And finally, Wednesday 13 are also releasing their new album 'The Dixie Dead' and it's looking good! Also being released in a months time so BFMV and W13, should be good!
Well, UG has been blocked for over a month or so and it's difficult for my to do requests... But the worst news is still yet to come.
BFMV's new song 'Riot' was released (unofficially) about 3 days ago. It takes time to even get used to it. It’s not that original and there’s so much more potential. However, this album is looking bad, worse than Fever. I’m just hoping that the rest of the album is better. IMO, Temper Temper is a good song, but it’s not like their old stuff, like from SAF! or the Poison.
The worst news is about Iain Watkins. You can read up about it, but it came as a massive shock. He doesn’t seem to be the kind of guy who did that, if you’ve grown up listening to their stuff. But I’m lost the words.
So, all in all, a shocking week, and just before Christmas. Let’s hope it gets better….
If you are a Suicide Silence fan, like me, you may have heard of this (personnally, I heard from the forums, under metal). He died after a motorcycle accident. R.I.P. to him.
This may sound bad, for me, but I do hope the band doesn't fall apart now (a bit like Slipknot who are on hiatus now). I hope they do continue to make music, but it's going to be hard to get their old sound again. It's never easy.
This month, and the upcoming months, are keeping me high-spirited. Why? Simply because so much music is being released by bands.
Recently, Three Days Grace's new album (Transit of Venus) was released and it was bloody awesome. Also, even more recently, Wednesday 13's new album 'Spook and Destroy' was just released and it is also sounding awesome. As I Lay Dying also released their new album 'Awakened' and it, again, is sounding awesome! Axewound have released their debut album 'Vultures'. Hopefully it's managed to win a lot more fans for Cancer Bats and BFMV. Next, Stone Sour's House of Gold and Bones is going to be released soon. The first two singles released were really good. Parkway Drive are going to be releasing their album 'Atlas' on the 30th of this month. 'Dark Days' (their pre-released single) was awesome. If you want, I have also tabbed it, so you can check it out if you want. Black Veil Brides (bring on the haters) are releasing their new album in January. The title and the album artwork can been seen (just type it into google). FYI, I am not one of the fans that only like BVB because of the looks and I don't care that they play to the market. Different people, different opinions... Bullet for my Valentine's new album was said to be released on the 12th (something like that) but I can't find it anywhere. So, I'm waiting for it (impatiently...) Also, Slipknot are working on their new album and, hopefully, it'll be released next year. Now that's an album I can't wait for. And finally, Bring Me the Horizon have been working on their new album which is said to be released later this year. Sykes said it sounded like Nine Inch Nails, so it should be pretty good.
Urghhh... it's the time that many of us dread. Exams... And, more importantly, public exams... Well, one week is over. Do you ever get this experience. Allow me. You do an exam, mock or the rea thing, and you think it's gone really well. However, when you get the mark back, you find that you've done awfully. Vice versa. Well, I find that nearly every time I do a paper, this happens. So I won't say how well or how bad it's gone, I'm just going to keep an open mind.
Well, one more week, but it's probably the hardest week. Four exams with two major exams on the same day; physics and economics. Not looking forward to it.
Unfortunately, I won't be able to do any tabs for some time, because I am otherwise pre-occupied. The annoying thing is that I have a couple of songs to tab. But, like I said, that'll have to wait...
If you find that you're in the same situation (exam-wise) or want to prove to myself that I'm not alone with my "experience", please comment. Oh yes, Shadows Fall's new album is pretty decent. Still got a bit of time for my own music.
Well, been some time since I last posted a blog. Well here it goes.
Throughout the holiday, I managed to do about 3 or 4 more tabs (you can check them out on contributions) and one of them has got an okay rating. The others are unrated (but if you want to rate them, be my guest).
I'm losing my respect for Paul Mcartney after reading some of the UG articles - One Direction the next Beatles? He likes Kanye West? Sorry, but I have to strongly disagree with him. I can't believe he's into that kinda music tho... Oh well, free world I guess.
The UG contest for funniest picture was pretty cool. The awkward moment picture was funnier than the pirate one (in my own opinion). Good drawing as well.
Courtney love is back at it again. Annoying everyone by opening her mouth. I'm siding with her daughter she should be banned from twitter. But I believe she should be banned from nearly all communciation websites (or whatever you call them).
Quite a bit of revision though. Yes, it's that time of year again. Exams, one of the things pupils all dread (I say all but I know some peple enjoy them?). Anyway, hopefully it all goes well.
If you have any opinions you want to say, please do. I enjoy listening to other people's ideas on subjects. Still open to listening to new bands btw. Check out my favourite bands if you want to know the kinda music I listen to.
Had school today, it was fun. A major snowball fight, sixth form versus the little kids. I think we lost (we were outnumbered greatly, ok?!). Yesterday, though, because we have a shallow, small pond, I decided to see how thick the ice was. Well, you can guess what happened... I grew wings and flew. I wish... my right foot fell through the ice and got soaking wet. Luckily it was shallow.
Music side of things, I was introduced, via A Day to Remember's 'All I Want' music videa, to a new band. Close Your Eyes. If you like rock/metal music (bit of rock, bit of metal, bit of screamo, check these guys out. They are awesome. Their music is really good, if you have the same tastes as I do.
Yesterday was a weird day... Gt a fortune cookie on monday that said 'all your goals wll be achieved tomorrow', but all i got was bad luck... Cheap chinese rubish, eh? Na, i respect the chinese (next superpower...). Anyway, that was yesterday.
Posted another tab on Saturday, but not getting much news on how good they are to other people. Check out Lostprphets - I'm not what you think i am. Good song and I tabbed it =p Need to promote these things, you know?
Performig two pieces tomorow, for music. Nothing like screamo, but classical stuff. Would be fun to sing screamo... Suicide Silence or Slipknot? Hmm...
Wel, nothing else has happened, so until next time.
