Yeah, the '51 P and the Sting signature are pretty similar. The big difference, besides the 12th fret inlay, is the fact that the '51 Precision has a flat, slab body with no contours (a la Telecaster) and the Sting signature has a contoured body (a la more recent P Basses, or a Strat). But they both sound the same. However, I've found recent ones to be really light, while this one weighs about 16 lbs.
