So... this guy named John...

So I've never been a huge fan of RHCP***, and never really thought John Frusciante was that cool or dynamic. To be fair, I still don't think much of his work with the chili's is worth the crazy hype he gets (especially on here) but my attitude has changed. Seeing as most everyone on UG is absolutely in love with him, you should be glad to know I am a convert to the church of Froosh.
I recently bought Shadows Collide With People, and to put it bluntly, it is by far one of the best albums I've heard in a long long time. Although most of the guitar work is pretty simplistic (unless you listen to second walk - talk about a guitar orgasm), but the music is beautiful. The crazy instrumentals are awesome as well, and really fun to listen to when you're messed up.
So I guess I'm just trying to say sorry for all the times I've argued against Froosh worshippers, now I have seen the light.
***to clarify: I love their earlier stuff like Freaky Styley and BSSM, but their new-er stuff just hasn't done it for me in the same way.

Shadows Collide with People is great. Gotta check out his other stuff too. When I saw the Chili peppers, he played one of his solo songs. It was beautiful.

Awesome man! Welcome to the dark side! His solo albums are great. You should check out his album (1st album) Niandra LaDes and Usually Just a T-shirt. Filled with experimental music, trippy as HELL. Also, his best album is probably "To record water for only 10 days". Every song on that album is awesome. If you like Shadows Collide with People, you'd probably like Curtains also. Anyway, welcome to the club man. Its all about just trying to get people to feel the same awesome feeling you get when listening to John's music.

Listen to something like "Your Pussy is glued to a building on fire" on youtube. That is kinda the style of his first 2 albums (Niandra LaDes & Usually Just a T-Shirt and Smile From the Streets you Hold). Listen to something like Fallout or Penetrate Time or Cut myself out and if you like it that is the style of his albums The Sounds inside (internet album) and To Record water for only 10 days. And then stuff off Shadows is like a lot of his newer stuff like Curtains and stuff. 2 songs i suggest if you like shadows... Look On and Dissolve. Those are awesome! If you like those a lot (the most) then his albums after To Record Water for only 10 days is for you. I suggest it all!!!! :)
