For your mid-gain? Plexi might be better, but the Top Boost will be more unique due to the extra glassy high end (which can be enhanced with a simple mod, but that cleans it up too. Might wanna look into the AC30 mod and see if you can get the extra highs from it without sacrificing gain).

The SL+ has more balls, a tighter bottom, and quite a bit more gain than the Plexi. The Plexi is definitely more Hair Metal while the SL+ is more thrash. The Top Boost is more like a Brian May sound, but can be modded to sound more like a stock AC30. In class right now, so I'll get back to you later.

Plexi has more gain, a bit brighter I think. It's more like early hair metal.
JTM is capable of clean tones, and it more of a rock crunch. It is THE AC/DC and Zeppelin module. Very overlooked and apparently underrated.

With the Randall power amp, you can create a fully capable MIDI rig to select between any of your 4 modules, matching them up to either 6L6 or EL34, or any power tube combo you decide you want
Also, you could always get an Egnater M4 and try those modules too

Told you! One thing I don't like about that module though, is that the bright switch makes it so thin and hollow sounding. I'd like to replace it with a gain boost, then put a Mullard 12AT7 in the V1 of the module (to widen it's range of gain and add some more 3rd dimensionality to the sound), so that when I activate the gain boost, it will bring it back to regular specs. Like a 5150 and 5150II in one

I actually got the opprotunity to try it out today at the Sam Ash on 43rd and Cactus. Yeah the cleans were pretty good, but the distortion was just lacking something.. maybe I didn't set it right or what. But it just didn't sound as good as the 6505. Yeah the ultra channel wasn't very good at all, I just used the crunch. That's also an issue, I know i'll be selling it sometime or another, im jsut gonna wait for the 5150 II haha.
