Just wondering how the drums are coming along? Did you get that pedal back? quote |

Yes, correct.
The DWs hit much harder than the Cobras did as well. The oversized beaters are intense. | Are the 9000's any different?
So you recommend DW's over Tama Iron Cobra's? That would actually be easier because the 5000 is cheaper!

Well, I figured out the guy I got it from purposely changed the spring on the slave pedal so it was a little tighter, I like it to be as smooth as the driver pedal. The driver pedal is SOOOOO smooth, I couldn't get my Iron Cobras to be like that, it feels so nice, no joke | Ignore my ignorance, but when you say "driver pedal", I'm assuming you're refering to the right foot pedal? Then the "slave pedal" is the left foot kick pedal?
I can't say for sure what I will prefer: smoothness or attack. Cobra's are supposed to be more balanced in that regard.

Haha yeah, most of them were with friends. We'd play for like an hour and then go play PS2 or something lmao.
I just got home from buying mine. I got a DW 5000. I was going to buy an Iron Cobra, since I'm used to using my friend's, but I got a smokin deal on this pedal, plus I like it better. The slave pedal is a bit stiff though, still tryin to figure out how to adjust that haha. The main pedal is smooth as hell though and it hits way harder than the Iron Cobras. | So you reckon the 5000's are better than the Iron Cobra's? I'm still up in the air about which ones I want. I've never actually tried either.

Yeah, I've only played in a handful of bands as a guitarist, but they usually only lasted a month or two because people were never dedicated enough to practice regularly, and actually practice seriously when they were there.
I'm finally buying a double bass pedal today though, now I can really bring teh br00talz haha. | If people don't want to take it seriously and play, I'd say forget em.
I've got a decent double-bass pedal I borrowed off my drummer. He never really fully got into it, so I assume he thought maybe I would get more use out of it.
If I buy a new one though (I'm hoping to get the Tama Power-Glide) he said he might try it again and see how much progress he makes.
I've never tested to see how fast I can reach actually, or recorded myself properly doing it. I've been practising half an hour a day for about a year so I'd like to think I'm okay at it!

Haha, thanks man.
I actually play drums in a MeloDeath band, but finding someone needing a guitarist is harder as they're so much more common | Ah well, that's not too bad then. Everyone seems to be in a band these days and they never seem to want to branch out at all. It's complicated.
I feel very fortunate to be in my band. To find two lads who like my kind of music, and who live in a relatively decent radius in such a small, spaced-out area is amazing.

Honestly, I really can't think of anything I don't like about the Cobra cab. It sounds awesome.
Right now I have it plugged into my JCM 800 and the Greenbacks sing with that amp. Before I was using it with my Mesa cab through the Warp X, both of them compliment eachother very well. | Did you try your RM4 with it? If so, how did it sound? Also, would you happen to have any experience with Eminence Tonespotter or Legend GB128 speakers?

Shinozoku wrote on May 5th, 2009 6:31amHey, not sure if I've asked this before or not, but how do you like your Cobra cab with various amps? Is there something consistent that you like and/or don't like about it? Anything it's missing in the sound or anything? I wanna build my own cab based on it, and was wondering what could be improved on with it. quote |
