I'm currently at Polytechnic doing Engineering, but I'm changing majors to Architecture and going to Tempe in the Fall |
Oh awesome I wanted to do architecture for a long time, but I think I'm going to do psych and go to med school. I cant wait to get there and start a new band with some kick-ass musicians; everyone at my school is either extremely mediocre/bad or completely undedicated lol

Well, not yet lol. I'm still in high school, but my mom works in the Chem/Biochem dept. Which campus are you at??

Yeah, the only place around here that I know of that sells Epiphone is Guitar Center, and I never go in there to try out Epiphones haha. I'll make sure to try one out the next time though, they usually have tons. Surprisingly, they only had like 4 Gibsons the last time, it was weird.
My Edwards has a JB in the bridge and a '59 in the neck |
Wow a JB, I'm assuming its Mahogany, so does that balance off the bright harshness I've heard about the JB?
Yeah I'd like to hear your opinion on them, I'm assuming that older foreign models are quite a bit better.

acdclandon wrote on Jun 26th, 2009 11:27pmYeah if you try a Chinese standard Epi LP let me know, they don't really seem all too worth the price, and the Customs are like the same thing with an extra 200 bucks tacked on.
What pups does yours have?
Yeah I'm just looking for something between my LTD Explorer and my strat.
The strat is cool but I need some more edge and whatnot, but I don't need a straight metal guitar either. Plus I just love the look of LP's. quote |
acdclandon wrote on Jun 26th, 2009 9:46pmhey dude, what do you think of your edwards LP?
I'm really looking to get a decent les paul (copy or not) for a good price.
But I know epi's are kind of a rip off and whatnot.
How did you get it?
Thanks for your help. quote |
chris55watt wrote on Jun 26th, 2009 5:50amwhere did you get the Marshall 6100 amp head at? Does the amp have enough gain for thrash metal, and iron maiden? quote |
Mark G wrote on Jun 25th, 2009 11:09amMatrixClaw wrote on Jun 24th, 2009 at 11:50pm : Yeah, I had this awesome band a while back but the singer and guitarist could never practice cause they were still in high school, it was annoying. The drummer was intense though, it made me cry when he went to another band |
I know the feeling, my previous band could never get together either. We had a great bassist but he was moving on. It all worked out in the end though, after 2 years of searching I found a great band. Don't give up

All my bands broke up cause people suck at practicing, and now it's hard as hell to find a decent one. |
Finding a good lasting band is hard as hell. But when you find one you're set.

Yeah man, it's just like monitors. Without noise-canceling headphones, it gets WAY too loud from the cymbals to hear anything on the song. |
Ah that makes sense. When I gigged last thursday I rly needed the monitors.

I literally got no time to play this weekend, unfortunately.
I'm going to order some new headphones though, the ones I have aren't cutting it, as they're not noise canceling and I basically have to guess where I'm at in the song haha. Once those are in, I should be able to do a MUCH better recording, that's actually in-time |

That's the one.
And yeah, I know what you mean. Same for me | I used to practise guitar about four hours a day. I did all the sweeping techniques; all the scales and chords... but over the last year, I've just written riffs and songs for the band and that's pretty much it.
I spend most of my free time writing now.
I might save up for the DW, then. I imagine they are fairly easy to find to try out if I take a trip to England.

Mine is the Accelerator version, which is considered the better of the two versions.
Same with me haha, I just play guitar when people come over to jam now really. Drums are so much more fun to play. | This one?

I love to play guitars, and I still buy them and amplifiers, too, but drums seem to be a new start for me. All the mistakes and aspects I don't like about guitar playing is gone, replaced it with new faults I'm sure I will figure out after a few more years. Once I hit that point, I'll probably move onto piano.

Haha, I dunno, you can add the toe stop on the 5000s, but I like it without it cause it makes my toes numb for some reason
I've been drumming off and on for a few years, but I only really got into it, as in having a set to regularly practice on, the past 6 months or so - which has mainly been my time with the double bass pedals. | I've just realised that the 5000 series is more expensive than the Power Glide Iron Cobra I was going to get, and they are harder to find second-hand.
What model is yours? I've noticed there are a few different editions.
I think I've only really started taking drumming as seriously in the last six months as well. I barely play guitar anymore!

Hey Derek,
Just wondering how the drums are coming along? Did you get that pedal back?
Hey man, I did a recording of it over the weekend, but decided it'd sound better with the double bass, so I scrapped that one. I got the pedal Monday, but haven't had much time to do a recording yet. Hopefully it'll get done either today or tomorrow |
Awesome! Thanks for taking the time to get it right. I respect that a whole lot more than half assed jobs

(+ double bass gets me hard)
