It's got ME worked up.... maybe even drooling a little. I have NO CLUE when it's going to be released (probably the fall, if the last ones are any indication), but it's gonna be AWESOME.
So here I am back at home - and now I have even more work ahead of me than there was when I was packing! Unpacking and getting rid of stuff is a real pain in the ass... but enough chattering!
I've decided that I need to borrow/steal my friend's distortion pedal; my rhythm sound is lacking and makes my lead sound noisy and somewhat weak. He has a good enough amp, so I don't think he'll mind. All the same, I am definitely going to Long & McQuade tomorrow to peruse the merch... I've got an itch to scratch!
So many shows to see this summer - Rush is coming in July, and that's just one of about a dozen shows I'd really like to see! Gotta get with the $$$ if I want those tickets, I suppose...
Sweet Zombie Jesus, I'm DONE SCHOOL!!! I never thought this day would come quickly enough, and now that it has on such a rainy day I thought I might as well write something. It a slightly weird feeling being done university, but I've had a wild time made some great friends. I'll miss more than a few of 'em, but my God I'll certainly be glad to cut ties with others!
Now summer vacation starts, only it isn't summer vacation anymore - it's my first summer since I was 4 that I won't be returning to some classroom. I must say, it feels pretty awesome. I have plans that don't need to be factored around the end of August; of course there'll be work, but now I can finally focus on writing more music and finishing songs I've started! I have a best friend at home who is in need of a mentor to further his studies in the ways of ROCK, and for someone who's a member of this website, what better task could be undertaken than that? I suppose forming a band... but I digress!
This summer means I can actually spend significant portions of my pay on new gear too. Now, I love my guitar to death, but if I don't get a new axe to work with I'll play it to death! Hopefully I can find something in-store that catches my fancy, but if I must I will peruse Musician's Friend yet again for something that rocks but doesn't break my bank.
I guess the only thing that remains is to find people in my area (or train them, see above) to form a group with and finally realize my dream of playing regular gigs and recording an album... the future looks bright indeed!
