Ah, that's a pain. Employment is difficult these days. I got a place to hire me about 3 weeks ago, and I'm still in the process of actually getting on the schedule. Drug test, physical, TB Test in both arms, 4 hours worth of paperwork to fill out...whatever happened to just working at a fast food joint for the summer? Teen angst be damned.

Can't help with your bass amp funds, but I will say buy combo with at least a 15" driver, or a 2X10, with at least 100-150W if you're going the solid state route. Don't buy Behringer. Make sure you've got a direct out and preferably a graphic eq as well. Look into Hartke, SWR and Ashdown if you're hard up for cash, plenty of thump for bucks in all of them.
