Excuse my semi-long-ish tie to reply as well. I've been busy with a shitload of events leading up to Christmas, specificly busking. Our band is recording a CD next week, so I'm pretty excited (except for the fact that my tenor sax hasn't been serviced in a year and seems to like annoying me by haemorrhaging spit from the top few keys).

Yeah, I guess if its a step in the right direction for what you want to do, then its a great idea. Seeing as I dont know where I'm headed in life, I figure its good to have all my bases covered subject-wise so that even if I change my mind somewhere along the track there is little chance of having to study new subjects to qualify for the course.

And I dont blame you for looking at the army as a way for profit with minimal effort etc. I think thats exactly how the government wants us to see it as, so people will join. But its not a bad thing, really. I guess what the army teaches is probably more valuable in life than what is taught in the final years of school :

I was supposed to see Dream Theater with a group of friends, and my parents were still kinda thingy about it. I don't blame them though, seeing as I'm less than 5'2 anyway. And I say "supposed to" because we had some issues getting the tickets, so I decided that it should be me who would miss out.

It sounds like you've really thought about where you're going in life. Good on you! Philosophy sounds really interesting as a subject, although I'm not sure where it would take you in life. But then again, I've never really looked into philosophy that much. And I guess the army isn't too bad either. A friend of mine is in the army and has a scholarship or something similar to complete year 12. I guess it only really sucks if you get sent off to war, as my martial arts instructor just has

lol at least you've been to a gig. The last gig I went to was the Wiggles when I was 3. Whats especially hard is seeing your favourite bands move through the country knowing you wont see them because of paranoid parents who think you will get kidnapped or raped if you go

I would definitely like a career in music, but I'm not sure if I'd ever make anything of it. I'll be doing some subject on music in uni or tafe, along with nursing. Nursing is my backup option How about you?

lol you dont really have to be great at your instrument when you play jazz. You can play basicly anything and get away with it, as long as your confident I'd say the proper term is "bullshitting" :

Well, I think that there are two other festivals our band is attending in the next two months around Victoria. There also might be a gig in the city for Yarra Trams with the big band I'm in, which I'm not too happy about. I have the school's social and Dream Theater on the same weekend, and had to miss out on both for the damn gig

I pretty good myself. I've just finished year 11 altogether and have at least 2 and a half months holidays I also have plenty of gigs to last the rest of this year, including a few days at a major jazz festival in Melbourne between Christmas and new year. So I'm pretty excited. Anything exciting lined up for you in these next few months?
