Whole Lotta Led wrote on Dec 31st, 2007 3:15amIt's just a tone control. There are some other additons to the circuit as well which results in a softer fuzz compared to the MKII. The clips I've heard so far for it are kind of shitty though, so it's going to be an issue getting it to sound like Page's... his was early version of it plus it wouldn't surprise me if Roger Mayer did some work in it for him. I'll probably wind up sticking with the MKII though, nails the early stuff and gets plenty close for RAH quote |
Whole Lotta Led wrote on Dec 29th, 2007 9:56pmYours probably has an extra resistor to stop the "pop" when you switch the pedal on. I also think they added a diode to protect the transistors. Also my volume and fuzz pots are underneath the board, so unless you knew they were there you'd never see them.
I wouldn't say those transistors get me closer to the RAH tone anymore than the previous ones I had tried... with the right settings though I can get in the ballpark. I'm going to be building a MKIII (3 Knob Tonebender) soon for the RAH tones. quote |
