you are really shaking your wrist and arm to make the note vibrate. use your second finger to hold the note you wish to vibrate. Don't shake the finger on it's own, you will get an out of pitch tone or note like that. let you wrist and arm gently rock side to side as your thumb finger stays free from grabbing the neck but just let it rest on it and slowly until you hear the true note vibrating without going way out of pitch. Then do it faster for a stinger vibrato......The second finger is the easiest finger master a vibrato with....when you developed a feel for it...then you can try it with your other fingers.....

to preform a vabrato you bend the down and back to normanl and back down...etc.
