Favorite bands :
Well over the past two years I have really gotten into more progressive material. 90's alternative is where my roots lie, but now my main focus musically are progressive and metal bands. I am a huge fan of BTBAM, Baroness, Opeth, Tool, Mastodon, Porcupine Tree, Minus the Bear, The Mars Volta, you get the idea. Then some other undeniable favorites of mine are the Foo Fighters, Nirvana, Rush, Death Cab for Cutie, Dinosaur Jr., Incubus, the Beatles, Hootie and the Blowfish (yeah!) and Modest Mouse in no particular order...
Favorite guitarists :
mikael akerfeldth, dave grohl, steve wilson, dave mustane, issac brock, adam jones, brian may, Kirk Kirkwood, Kurt Cobain and many others. i believe you dont have to play 21 nps to be a great guitarist. its all about phrasing and getting something across to the listener.
Favorite bassists :
claypool, lemmy, justin chancelor, novascelic, flea. dont know many bassits. i mean i do, but i wouldnt say i have many favorites.
Favorite books :
anything star wars
Favorite tv :
scrubs, ninja warrior, a bunch of other crap ruined by commercials.
Favorite movies :
star wars, sin city, anything mel brooks....the list continues
Hey guys and gals, I'm Mike. feel free to call me that.
well, i basically started playing because my friend did and i thought it was awesome. plus i always wanted to play an instrument and my parents wouldnt let me join band. go figure.
now there i was in eighth grade and i ask for a guitar for my confirmation, and i get it awesome. fast forward about 6 years, a few bad teachers, one good one who i couldnt afford, a high school theory class and many long nights teaching myself and here i am.
I am in a band called Solid Ground (myspace.com/eastcoastsolidground) we dont have any new recordings up, and the one we have up there isnt even a song we are using anymore.
