Favorite bands :
I'll keep it down to the big 10 for me - Guns N' Roses, Motley Crue, Sex Pistols, Motorhead, Judas Priest, Wednesday 13, AC/DC, Misfits, Wildhearts, Avenged Sevenfold
TBH, my main areas of interest include 80's Heavy rock, hair metal, Punk, some thrash, NWOBHM, pop-punk, blues, Latin, some power-pop (when I'm on down moods I seem to find Avril kinda comforting, don't ask me why) - TBH, I'll give anything a first listen.
Favorite guitarists :
Slash, Steve Jones, Tipton & Downing, The Young Brothers (Angus & Malcolm), Phil Campbell, Mick Mars, Tony Iommi, Wednesday 13, Carlos Santana, Dave Mustaine, Noodles, Synyster Gates & Zacky Vengeance (What?), Francis Rossi & Rick Parfitt (The dudes from Status Quo), Giner & CJ
Favorite bassists :
Duff Mckaggan, Nikki Sixx, Ian 'Lemmy' Kilmister, Glen Matlock - And, yes, to a degree, Sid Vicious, Johnny Christ (Now I finally know the guys' sodding name)
Favorite books :
...The Blackadder Scripts, Shakespeare (Well I'm a bloody actor in training, after all), Heroin Diaries, Lemmy's 'White Line Fever', and to a lesser degree, Slash.
Favorite tv :
Red Dwarf, Blackadder, Mock The Week, have I Got News For You, Motor-sport [when it's on at a decent time], Footballing tragedies (Otherwise known as Newcastle United), Firefly, and there's a few others I cannae remember
Favorite movies :
Favourite styles are action (like lethal Weapon), comedy of most styles, thrillers, and Mind-fuck oriented Horror (e.g. The Shining). I don't mind sitting through romances so long as the script's decent, and Gore-fest horror films hold as much interest to me as a Celine Dion cover of an AC/DC number. Nice lil film to hunt down is Serenity - asides from that, I can never remember them, and I know most folks reading are bored now
North Yorkshire chap, more interested with guitar-driven music of the 70's & 80's rather than modern times (with a few exceptions). Currently in the Limbo that is claiming Jobseeker's in the arse-end of nowhere, North Yorkshire... Malton, whilst doing odd stuff with me covers band, Bull in Field. Been playing for about 8 years now, & I'm not as good as people would expect, but I'm good enough for what I've needed to do so far - am working on Lead technique, song-writing and Speed right now. As a player, my style is a sort of 'Blues-Punk' feel, whilst borrowing a vibe or two from Motorhead. My initial style was influenced by my blues teacher and Punk bands, but now I'm taking on from Mick Mars, Slash and Synyster gates (What?). Always believed music & all this should be about entertainment first of all - This ain't the place for political agendas.
Pretty short temper for current fashions in pretty much everything, which pretty much Does make me a Cynic - only because it's how I wind up been right 9 times outta 10, sadly. If anyone wants to know my particular views, feel free to ask. Very dim view of politics & spin. Also, don't try & convert me to playing Ibanez's or ESP's religiously and we'll get on just fine. I like the Gibson styles, and WILL be owning a nice V one day. Till then, the SG will do me fine...
Music aside, My other interests include me stage-work (obviously), and I'm also a bit of a petrol-head, F1 in particular, and now follow the tragic-comedy that is Newcastle United F.C.
