I was using my Ibby Guitar (not uber killer, but good for a first one), my Vox Amp (one of the new series, 50Watt) and this really cheapo Mic - hanging over the Amp/Speaker. Then recorded with that Audacity program, and edited/mixed with Adobe Audition. So pretty basic/cheap stuff, but sounds alright to me

That sounds great. I've liked B Standard after hearing what At the Gates could do with it. Not that they're the only ones, by any means, but yeah. And I've always really been metal with good, deep groove to it. Personally.
