Live musicians. Its was a sort of 2 week long summer school course type thing, except it was during the easter holidays not summer

We were taught the basics for writing music, and various technique markings and that sort of thing. The quartet were always there if you needed to check if a bar was playable or to see how something sounded.
So we essentially had free reign over what we wrote, and then it was preformed in a mini concert and recorded.
