I've finally decided to try recording some of my playing. Mostly they're just covers, but it's always good to get feedback and so forth. My first attempt was a complete failure. I had gotten a new soundcard, the proper cables, a preamp for DI, but it just wasn't working. The next evening I go to try again, but I decide to take another look at my connections on the sound card. It appears that I was trying to record through one of the surround sound outputs, rather than the line in port. I seem to have read the description of the ports backwards as they are complete opposite sides. Now I've gotten everything straightened out, and have recorded my first little cover track, with many more hopefully to come.
