I spent thirteen years in the Canadian Armed Forces as an electronic technician before taking an early (voluntary) release to work in the Defense Industry (where I've been employed ever since). I played in a couple of bands but not too seriously (hobby with a few gigs) until my mid twenties. I bascially quit guitar between the ages of 30 & 43 before realizing I missed it. My very first guitar was a Black Taro Les Paul copy that had a plywood body (neck wood unknown). Since then, most of my guitars have been of the Stratocaster style (body, scale, bridge design etc) until I decided to get back into it. Now I find I'm a Les Paul type of guy. I sold my American Deluxe Strat to my brother and bought two Epiphone Elitists Les Pauls instead. I've also repaired many guitar amplifiers for people over the years including a blown Fender Twin for the "Grandpa Band", a Music Man 2x12 for "Doug and the Slugs" as well as many hobby musicians. I have a small collection of amplifier & effects schematics (Fender, MusicMan, Traynor, Peavey, Rockman) available for free should anyone need them!
