Thanks for the heads-up about the Vibromate and Brass saddles!

Anytime man! I have them both on my MIM Tele, so if you have any questions just let me know. I installed the Bigsby and Vibramate on my own, but the previous owner put the brass saddles in. Honestly though, my Tele sustained longer than my Explorer when I had it :haha:

whatever it means, i approve!

It's my philosophy on right hand techniques and rhythm phrasings. I do them more like a drummer than a guitarist, so for me, guitar is a percussion instrument.

Check out SRV's picking technique, or Albert Lee's phrasing and you'll get me.

What makes the guitar not an percussion instrument is that percussion instruments the strings have different vibrations. String instruments they have the same number of vibrations, it's just where they end that makes the sound. For example: A snare is a percussion because the strings move in different vibrations. Guitars do not.

You're taking things entirley too literal. It's a philosophy, not a statement.

Dude,
the list of math rock bands that was closed was sick. Nice job if you compiled that.
What's your favorite math rock album?

There is such a thing as "slap guitar" too. It is a very percussive way to play the guitar. The mutes or "ghost notes" really almost give a sense of some kind of drum or hi-hat rhythm that kind of propels the piece.

hey man, thanks for listening to my cover! You want to know the recording setup I use? Well, Amplitube3, EZ drummer and Reaper, that`s it! And you`re the first guy that noticed drum line here, I also like that instrument at most. And you know, the drum were very difficult to do...maybe because it was the first time I used those drums programs...

Slap bass, maybe..

It's an outlook on how the guitar is played, moreso pertaining to your strumming hand. I started as a bassist, so I equated a lot of my playing with the drummer and I played in a gigging band for almost 3 years with them, so almost all of my bass experience was with a drummer.

I got into songwriting, switched to guitar, and have loved it. Basically in drumming, the WAY you drum accentuates mood, so the WAY you strum accentuates the notes. You can pound the shit out of the snare and kick (Chugging and palm mutes), or use the brushes to get a sweep sound (Arpeggiated chords), etc.

That was a quick down and dirty, hope it explained.

Very true, about guitar being a percussion instrument, the way some people play it (The Edge, David Gilmour, Paul Gilbert, at times) I like your view on the instrument, if that really is your view
