I have no idea how to read chords or scales. Probably never
learned about them because I'm entirely self-taught and play most songs by ear. String's tuning are about the only notes I can identify (also by ear on occasion). I'm probably a pretty
big spaz for not knowing, but, then again, I don't think Jimi Hendrix
knew how to read music either. And seeing as I
didn't need to learn any chords/scales to be able to play Van Halen's
Eruption, I don't think I'll need to learn anytime soon.
So when you use the words "chord" or "scale", don't expect me to know what you are talking about .
