Favorite guitarists :
Michael Amott (Arch Enemy), Dave Mustaine (Megadeth), Marty Friedman (ex-Megadeth), Jason Becker and Yngwie Malmsteen.
Favorite bassists :
I'm not really into bass, but if I had to mention one bassist I am fond of it would have to be none other than Les Claypool of Primus.
Favorite books :
The Sword of Truth series are easily the best books I have ever read. It's an eleven book fantasy series that just finished a few years ago. Check out the Wikipedia article on it: http://en.wikipedia. org/wiki/Sword_of_tr uth
Seriously, I think these books put Lord of the Rings to shame. If you like reading, there's probably something in these books for you.
Favorite tv :
Star Trek TOS, TNG and VOY (yes, Voyager). A lot of people really hated Voyager, and it really wasn't even close to canon as far as Star Trek goes, but I felt that it took Star Trek in the direction it was meant to go; Star Trek is supposed to be about exploration, cool technologies, and philosophy. What the hell were they thinking when they decided "Hey, let's go and undo all of the progress and awesome stuff that made Star Trek what it is and delete hundreds of years of history! Hell, we'll even make it less original and call the ship this series focuses on 'Enterprise'! Then we can go where every man's already been with bad technology and a horrible story which undermines decades of work!" Afterwards, the steaming pile known as 'Star Trek: Enterprise' was created and cancelled a few seasons later because it sucked so much. If it were up to me, they would have taken some of what Voyager left for them and done a series on some timeship in the 29th century. That could have been really badass; you could have futuristic Borg with really awesome armour and weapons, exploration of galaxies which are radically different than our own, and there are far more options for a series like that then going into the past and pulling a George Lucas.
I watch Trailer Park Boys a lot too. I have seen all seasons, both movies, Say Goodnight to the Bad Guys, as well as Cart Boy numerous times. I saw the first movie in theaters back in '06 too. Very original idea for a TV show! Ricky would have to be my favourite character; so many things that he says or does just crack you up because of how stupid it is!
I also follow Breaking Bad and Dexter. These last two sentences are an update from awhile ago, and right now I don't feel like explaining why I like those shows.
Favorite movies :
I don't really watch movies all that much, but anything Quentin Tarantino at least had a hand in is probably something I like. (Pulp Fiction, Natural Born Killers, Kill Bill, Sukiyaki Western Django, stuff like that) While I think that Inglorious Basterds was an alright movie, it was absolutely terrible compared to any other true Tarantino film.
I also like watching The Matrix Trilogy except for the last one, it was bad but they still had to end the story somehow. Reloaded was the best for my money; it had more action than the first one and I thought it was more interesting to watch.
I like Star Trek movies too. While I thought the 2009 movie was an abomination of the franchise, I thought they made a good story with it and I thought they made it fairly obvious to hardcore trekkies that it wasn't supposed to be canon at all; they even re-made some of the Star Trek timelike to create a kind of time paradox so it still fits with Star Trek's roots. For my money, The Wrath of Khan (II) and The Voyage Home (IV) were the best Trek movies ever. I mentioned the fourth Trek movie because I thought it was hilarious.

I have been playing guitar since about April '10. Basically, my big hobbies are writing and playing guitar. I am very proud of my writing ability, but now I want to take on the guitar head on! Currently I am trying to balance my efforts between storywriting, composing, and guitar practice... I'll see how that works out for me I guess!
I listen to various branches of Death Metal, mostly Melodic Death Metal. I also like Thrash Metal quite a bit. I also have a fondness for Classical which seems to grow as I learn more about music. Lately I have developed more of a taste for Black Metal, but it's still too early to say I am really a big fan of it or anything like that.
