Moving on from where I last left off, I have spent a lot of time learning new ideas for songs and playing chords much more smotthly. When I joined these pages as a member I could not for the life of me play any kind of rhythm at all. These days that is not the case. I did release my first song labeled 'Corner of the Bed" and allowed many of you to get a taste of what I was doing. Since my departure from the comfort of these pages I have been working at length to completely developing that project and I have many different versions with no idea of a final product.
I also recently went through about 12 to 14 different various written lyric files on my computer. Many ideas were scrapped due to the fact that they did not match anything I was currently looking to get started on yet.....
Something else has crossed my mind as of late. I have been working on songs with deep meaning or no meaning. I think a song should tell a story or give a listener the idea that there is a story there. The more I hear songs the more I wonder how much is left to chance? I have a few ideas and some examples of this but I am really not at the point where I want to get into this idea completely. I do plan to save this for another blog and hope to get feedback to help me make decisions.
Lastly, in my previous blog I noted that I had some equipment failure. The Audacity program I was running crashed and I haven't really had much time to mess with it at all. I have moved to the idea of recording most of my work live. I have found plenty of "media" to capture that kind of recording at professional sound quality. Still nothing final yet.
I plan to update all of my usual readers on everything else soon. Until next time....
At some point you must just let go of your creation and let it live in the world!
I suggest you write down everything that comes to mind, keep it, YOU will need it!
I never throw away a line or lyric, I learned that they all have meaning. When you have a new song you are writing, go back and look at your writings, I bet some things will fit, they came to you for a reason. I also have constructed songs from these parts. I would also suggest you produce a song and then move on, don't get stuck in place, the FUTURE songs need YOUR time also!
I think a lot of art and creation IS LEFT TO CHANCE, it has to be, the gods of creation have to have their part also, and WE JUST GET IN THE WAY MOST OF THE TIME! We are just conduits to the conscience. Come catch up on my music!
I have recorded a butt load sense last we talked.
