Yeah I think after the new year I am going to go all out with the platinum mod and effects loop mod. I am really looking forward to the potential affects of the mods.

yeah man, give Trace a call and talk to him about what you're looking for. he's not the type to feed you a bunch of bullshit, but he'll talk you through it to make sure you're getting what you want... very helpful dude!

I see you have a voodoo mods amp. Did you notice a big difference in tone before and after?

Did I ever! To put it shortly, it made my dual a trackable amp. Possibly the most noticeable improvement is how the EQ responds... naturally and with extended range, both drastic improvements over a stock Mesa. Harmonics are out of this world. Gain structure is sooo much smoother! You lookin' into picking up one of Trace's mods, maybe on that TSL you got sittin' in your gear list?

thanks for the tone comments

Any time:D I run the tone testing thread for a reason. Let me know if you want input on anything specific.

hey man, i was wondering if u could help me out a bit. im lookin to buy my second guitar and want something that i can use for frequent gigs n that'll last me for a while. i've narrowed my search down to either a PRS tremonti SE and a schecter blackjack. since u have both SE and a schecter, i wonder if u could help me out. i play in a garage rock/grunge band and i play metal sometimes too.

how are the pickups still treating you?

PRETTY GOOD. I just bought a Danelectro Milkshake Chorus... just to experiment with a chorus. And I bought a BOSS PSA adaptor... just to experiment with a pedal chain... I'm not sure how it will work...

Awesome! its good to hear that you like them. Rock that shit out and have some ice cold beers while rocking that shit

You fuckin' know it! :) It seems like a great combo. I fucking wish I could hook up my pedals though - gotta make that the next thing to attend to!

OMG NEW PICKUPZ RAAAWK! I LUV THEM! Seriously, the tone is a lot better now, and the hum is significantly reduced! :D Now I must go on a quest for... other shit! Pedal power supply, that CryBaby still, and a fuckin' chorus.

Will do, cap'n! My friend's also selling me his CryBaby for $50ish, so :)

Yay, I sent it in to get them installed. Turns out the guy got them in creme for me anyways! Should be a week or two. I'm fockin' pumped!

I cannot complain however. I'd rather have a professional who knows exactly what he is doing.

And my dad said he'd help me construct a pedal board this week! :D

I would put the HS-3 in the bridge because it is a little hotter. Are you not installing them yourself?

Okay, then HS-3 it is. Er, I really don't know how. I hear it's easy and I am so down for it, but my dad is iffy on it; voiding warranty and such, etc. :) So yeah... can't tell him differently either haha

OMGOMGOMGOM THEY'RE IN!!!!!

I might be going to get them tomorrow! If we get the new car, my dad said we can test drive it down to L&M. Sad news... it's gonna be another 2 weeks till they're put in. :(

Oh, and do you recommend maybe having the HS-2 in the bridge and HS-3 middle?

JLT73 wrote on Jun 11th, 2009 at 11:54pm :

thats horse shit. The HS-3 shouldn't be a problem at all. I could see maybe the HS-2, but even then 5 weeks is ridiculous.

I know, I've called them too and they haven't answered the phone! WTF! I'm gonna call right fuckin' now. The HS-3 is on the YJM Strat is it not? They have that in stock! It's actually 6 weeks today.

did you gets your pups yet?

Fuck, I called L&M and it's been 5 weeks... 5 weeks and they've only gotten the YJM in. WTF!!!!! HS-2 and HS-3 must not be widely used? They are proving difficult to acquire.

which WCR pickups do you have? Also how do you like them?
I have the WCR Fillmore set. They're great pickups, I really like the bridge but if I were to recommend WCRs, I'd recommend a Crossroad neck. I like it much better than the Fillmore neck.

the sa pups are actually really nice. I like them a lot, but that being said I would get some passive single coils over them any day of the week
Well, I already put a Chopper in the neck and an SSL-3 in the bridge and I love it, but I just thought I'd ask someone who had used them. Thanks ;).

how is the pickup search going man?

Not good, I'm afraid. I got severely side tracked... my best friend died a week and a bit ago, so I haven't even played guitar that much. :(

I still dunno what to get, but I asked my dad and he said we can go really soon. He's been saying that forever though. Should I just go with HS3, HS2 and YJM still?

yeah it may be for you, I can't really suggest it as I haven't been able to use it yet. But with Dimarzio if you don't like it you could always exchange the pup for something else within 30 days(I think)

Ah, good call on the exchange. I think I want to give it a try, but I love my classic SSS configuration... :( Eh, if I don't end up liking it I suppose I can get an HS-3 instead.
