Oh, I totally missed your post where you explained everything. I guess I didn't have to go look it all up afterall. Thanks for the help anyway. I don't have anything against Islam or any religion in and of itself. It is just in my view looking to an external force such as a god for salvation instead of looking inwards can lead to negative consequences, such as discrimination against those who don't hold the same views as you do. Of course, there are countless people who have been able to find salvation and happiness through religion, so I don't think it is a bad thing. It has such a great potential to become dogmatic, though, which is why I think it needs to be watched.

There you go.
Have you ever even picked up a Qur'an?
Or did you just find those verses via google.
Next time please pick up a Qur'an, read the verse AND WHAT IS BEFORE AND AFTER THE VERSE before you criticize it. I do not claim to be a scholar of islam or anything of the sort, but i only ask that you use reliable sources to support your claims.

Peace and Blessings upon you and your family.

Ismail

I was able to find a koran search engine online and you are right they are out of context. The site I had taken them from said that they were in context, and I don't happen to own a copy so I didn't bother checking. Sorry about that.

Yes i saw the verses.
But those are taken out of context. This is what one user said in response to the verses you posted-
"Can I just point out that it doesn't take a genius to spot that you've most likely taken those verses out of context. I assume you copied + pasted from some website...
The context they were possibly originally in:
1. fight with what? You can fight with words and everyone knows the pen is mightier than the sword. You can fight a debate...
2. he's saying this to the angels... NOT to humans or the people reading
3. it tells you to say die, not to act on it
4. fight who? When there is terror, there is a need to fight against terror therefore fighting is suddenly justified in that context... it could be anything. also, fight how?
5. "and drive them out from whence they drove you out" this seems to be about self-defence
As you can see, when you take things out of context, you can view them as anything."

Hello
sorry to resurrect old threads and posts but i stumbled upon one of yours that i have to question
you say this-
"No, I'm saying that the Koran says that you should kill those that are of other beliefs. Anyone who thinks that those of different beliefs should be killed is dangerous. When you get thousands of people that think that way, it's extremely dangerous. "

Can you please show me where you found this in the Qur'an states this?

Thanks

I believe I posted verses in that topic.
