This thing is basically brand new. Eventually I will re-cap it. Measures Capacitance from 100pF to 10uF, Megohms/Leakage, and has a high-voltage pulse oscillator to test caps for breakdown up to 1kV. Shouldn't be used on electrolytics, as it was only designed to test coupling caps. It can do all of these tests in-circuit without having to unsolder anything. If used improperly, however, it will weaken or destroy good caps.

Back in the day these things got a majorly bad reputation for damaging new caps so almost all of them were either sent back to the factory or put on a shelf and forgotten. It's not Simpson's fault that people used these things improperly on the crappy capacitors of the time...
