Alright, so. I was in Costco the other day, and there was the Fender Starcaster. It was all set up and plugged in, so I decided to have a little fun. I was playing a nice and slow ska tune and having fun, (NOFX's Scavenger Type to be specific) and in comes some other guy. He's waiting around and pretending to check out the keyboards and I, out the kindness of my heart, went up to him and said, "Hey, bro! Were you waiting for this? Sorry if I took too long." I tuned it up and handed it to him. He turns up the volume and the gain and starts playing this horrid buzzsaw metal tune. I beat it out of there because I didn't want to be affiliated with him. Good thing because a minute later, a elderly man went up to him and told him turn it off. I went back later and resumed my friendly little tunes.
What I learned: If you're going to play a guitar in a mixed-crowd kind of place like Costco, play friendly tunes. Something everybody might know. My suggestion, classic 50's rock n' roll tunes like "Roll Over Beethoven" or "Johnny B. Goode."
