Well, well, well... UG Profiles has finally been implemented. It's been a long time coming, but finally, it's here.
Watch all the scene kids swarm to UG to fill their profiles with shoddy HTML code and gigabytes worth of personal 'picz'...
That said, I am liking the whole My Mp3's thing. I think it's going to be cool seeing what original music other UGer's are showing off. If only they integrated the site with Last.fm... well, one can always ponder...
Well, I was thinking that given all the new things they were going to implement, such as mp3's and blogs, it would be cool if they integrated Last.fm charts into user profiles to show their music tastes.
UG is, or rather, was, just a standard music site. Last.fm, on the other hand, is a social music website. Now that UG has taken on the whole 'social web' thing, I think that integrating with Last.fm would have been a really neat thing. It would have taken UG Profiles to a whole new level of functionality I think.
Right now you can insert LAST.FM chrats or widgets into your about field, so anyone will see it on your profile main page. We are thinking about importing favorite artists from last.fm right into UG profile and inmplementing search for users with similar favorite artists. Still don't know will it be possible, but it sounds like a good idea.
We'll try to do something with it, right after fixing all bugs) It'll be in a few weeks I think.
