I hope you're preparing to get pwnd at unbuzzed. I started working on my solo that I'm going to use in our duel.

Regarding the Colbert reference in your sig

It is actually

"Ameria is the greatest best country that God has given us on the face of this Earth"

There's plenty more where they came from.
And why do you hate The Beatles as Mike suggests?

Mmkay, good sir. Here are some other reasons why I like The Beatles:
-Genres they created/helped create
Acid rock:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y1u489DqbMQ

Psychedelic Rock:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cqOKvonLrH8

Hard Rock:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OM9KRpEkGfY
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gf-Q2rDd6Tw

They worked with Eric Clapton on this one:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AHChc2I7FKk

They were the only band epic enough to have police try to shut down their random rooftop gig...and win:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YVT_KRRwH0M

THEY wrote this song. NOT AEROSMITH:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6vAqekT-GuA

Awesome guitar riff by George(bad quality):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4CVDiPmdnAk

Another awesome riff:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hGrEZH7j1bQ

And another(first song to use intentional feedback):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PykzyxWYS3Y

One of their... weirder... songs:

Another good one:

Ok, I'll talk to Mike and we can probably all get together at his house and practice even though he isn't doing it this year. We will see there if we are ready.

guitarAce372 wrote on Apr 13th, 2008 8:30pm

Do you want to do it this year or next year? If we do it this year we don't have music to back it up and we get minimal practice. If we do it next year we have a band to back us up and we get time to practice and compose a mash-up of a bunch of epic songs with great solos and stuff. Your call.

:/ Mike always has an excuse.
There are a couple options:
1. We don't play.
2. We play without Mike.
3. We play with a different drummer.
4. We play just using guitars
6. idk, something else.

What do you think? We can't play The End without drums because it has an awesome drum solo. You and I can either play a different song or do a mash-up between The End and a song of your choice. Or we just don't play at all and we practice all summer to have an EPIC song for next year.

Well I'll probably need bonus points in Mr. Wyant's class. And there are more Beatles fans than you think. Now I need to convince Mike to convince his dad to let him play and lug his drums to the school.

Oh and how could the song have been made based around lyrics if there is only 11 words in it? They were known for their brilliant chord progressions, great solos, and their musical influence.

guitarAce372 wrote on Apr 13th, 2008 6:43pm

Well sorry, but we are not changing. Perhaps you can find someone else to play bass and drums and sing and you can play your song. We are still convincing Mike to play in Unbuzzed. The End was a brilliant song if you know anything about music theory and their set up of the solos. The two most brilliant song writers of all time + one of the most influential guitarists of all time + an awesome drum solo = awesome song.

Oh, and Kurt Cobain was a Beatles fanatic. Read comments backwards please.

They have an entire musical about them

They have a cirque de soleil thing about them

Those are some innovations that come right off my head. I'm sure there's more. Anyway I'm not moving away from The Beatles on this one. You don't have to play if you don't want to. I'm sticking to this one. Sorry :)

NOTE: Sorry it took so many different comments to put all this info

They were the first to use sitar in rock music

They could play an unimaginable amount of instruments each

They had a great sense of humor

They in some way inspired every band today: They invented modern rock

They were the first to intentionally use guitar feedback

They had the largest TV audience in the Ed Sullivan Show

They had a record breaking sell out and Shea in '65

They invented the music video

They were the first successful British band

First band to put lyrics on the sleeve of an album

First to put drums on a platform and popularize this style still seen today

Made Ludwig famous

Popularized the Gibson SG

Used great guitars like Epiphone Casino, Fender Strat, Les Paul, Hofner Bass, ect.

Popularized long hair

Popularized the mellotron

First to use reverse symbols

First to publicly criticize a war and protest

They created backmasking

They recorded amazing songs with crappy recording equipment

They had their own movies

They had their own cartoons and merchandise

They created the flange sound effect

They didn't rap :)

John Lennon was killed epically

They pwnd n00bs

They created so many different catch phrases

They worked with musical geniuses like Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, and Eric Clapton

They seldom repeated themselves

They have 336 songs and their releasing a lost track this year

They created so many songs that you probably didn't know that they wrote: I hate
when people say that Come Together is an Aerosmith song. Go die, people.

Well sorry, but The Beatles beat A7X any day of the week :)
Paul McCartney was the best bassist of all time.
George Harrison was the 21st best guitarist of all time.
Ringo Starr was a revolutionary drummer.
And John Lennon was probably the best songwriter of all time.

Rolling Stone magazine rated them "The Best Band of All-Time"
and they rated Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band the "Best Album of All-Time"
They invented several different genres and their rooftop performance was epic because the police tried to shut it down. NOTE: I have to seperate this into two comments because it is too long.

They created one of the first hard rock songs: Helter Skelter

They were the band to record an album with a full orchestra: epic

They created acid rock

They created psychedelic rock

They created 27 number one hits in only 7 years: That's like 4 a year

They also would usually be on the number one list for weeks: until another one of their songs bumped it off

They did drugs: Yeah, not relevant, I know
