ChadT wrote on Oct 17th, 2008 11:45pmI traded in my Vox AD120VT for a VK 212. The Vox I had is VERY similar to the one you are considering. The Vox is definitely more versitile, but the VK is all tube, and really has better tone, especially for OD/Distortion. If you need several different sound options that simulate a full tube amp fairly good, go with the Vox, but if you want pure tube tone with a lot of crunch and low end punch, go with the Peavey. Keep in mind that it responds very well with pedals as well, to give you some versitility. I can tell you from experience that the Peavey also cuts through the mix better if you are in a band. quote |
