Hi,
I was wondering how you get a decent sound with your bow?
I can't get it to work too well.
Thanks |
Firstly, I tighten up the hair on the bow quite a lot, and use a good amount of rosin. I play my guitar pretty low so it's easier to bow continuously. I run it through a dirt pedal with just a little bit of gain - something like a ProCo Rat or HM-2 works really well, Big Muff's not so much. You might want to add a bit of short delay with medium feedback, and then through a really big reverb. I like to add a bit of chorus as well.
I don't bow a whole lot, so I'm not too great at it - I just stick to the top string of my guitar for drones and such.

Great pedal if you already have a tube amp that needs to be tightened up a bit. Also you can use it to push the preamp tubes harder to squeeze some more juice out of them and get deeper into that metal realm... Great pedal, Highly recommend it..

sam i am wrote on Jul 17th, 2008 8:06pmI would just like to say that I thought your Bloc Party review was completely in-accurate. Here are my thought which I also posted in a comment:
"This review I could have sworn was about a different album!
Out of the more successful british indie bands , Bloc Party definately seem like they have complete control over their sound. The fact that they were able to release songs souch as "Flux" and recently "Mercury", with such a drastic change in sound, proves this. I defientaly wouldn't put BP down as another band under their lable's thumb.
As for the lyrics, there are only a couple of "love songs" on the album.... and I doubt you would see likes of The Pigeon Detectives singing about terrorist attacks immigration or suicide." quote |
