Oh I forgot to mention that this fix will decrease performance by a little bit, due to the CPU using a single core driver.

Hey, I posted in your topic about your friend's poor frame rates with his 9800GTX+ and I think I may have gained some headway if you haven't already solved this problem. But first, what CPU do you have? In my case, I use an AMD 64 x2 6000, and here's how i solved this(for the most part). Go to control panel->system->hardware->device manager. now expand computer and right click on acpi multiprocessor pc and click "update driver" and click "Install from a list or specific location". Then click "don't search, I will pick which driver to install". then pick "standard PC" as the new driver. After you restart and windows reinstalls all your hardware the skipping in games should quit.
