I just opened up my Krank and whilst its pcb im still very impressed. I'm thinking of my amp build to do a wizard style amp that can do AC/DC and VH |
Yeah it does do Modern tones as well... it is the modern classic model as opposed to the vintage classic hahaha
I keep meaning to do some more in depth clips of it now ive had it for a couple of months

amazingly of course!
goes amazingly with a clean boost to get it into AC/DC territory which is luckily exactly the style i play

AxSilentxLine wrote on Jul 29th, 2010 5:55pmHey man did you end up picking up that Rev+ on Ebay? quote |
MatrixClaw wrote on Jul 9th, 2010 7:35pmGuitar-KID125 wrote on Jul 9th, 2010 at 5:33am : So last question, would you reccomend the Rev+ over a 6505+ for stuff like Killswitch and Parkway Drive? |
Well, IMO, the Rev+ completely destroys the 6505+ in terms of tone...
But since you're going for that tone, both of them have used those amps at one point or another, so you'd probably get closer. IMO, the 6505+'s tone is kinda boring and overdone though.

http://www.sevenstring.org/forum/gear-and-equipmen t/19458-peace-of-mind-krank-revolution-review.html
I'm more after a Parkway Drive heavy tone rather than something really mid-rangey and attacky |
Keep in mind, that review is for the original Rev. The + series is a GIANT upgrade IMO.

MatrixClaw wrote on Jul 8th, 2010 3:06amGuitar-KID125 wrote on Jul 7th, 2010 at 6:41pm : Thanks that clears a lot up. One last question though, does it cut through well? I know its not the best way to judge an amp but listening to a video between that and a uberschall it seemed to struggle a bit.
The amp itself is at a steal so i think i'm not going to be able to pass this one up : |
Really? I had an Uberschall and the Krank would cut like a knife through that amp IMO.

MatrixClaw wrote on Jul 8th, 2010 1:27amGuitar-KID125 wrote on Jul 7th, 2010 at 6:22pm : Hey Matrix i've got a good deal on a Krank Rev+ but there are a couple of things i need to know since I know nothing about this amp. On your recording it sounds trebly and lacking bass like the framus or recto clips have. Does it not have a strong bass? Also I heard that at low volumes they sound pretty bad. It's going to be my everything amp so I'd need it to be good at Low and High Volumes. Thanks |
The bass on Kranks are voiced different than the Cobra and Recto. It still has tons, it's just less of a "huge" bass and more of a "punch you in the face" bass, if that makes any sense at all :P
I've never really had a problem with any amp at low volumes.

Was probably loud enough to get over a drummer, but not exactly optimal volume.
