I have been unable to play around with my guitar seriously for many months now. In fact, I havent even had my guitar for two. Well, I am heading on back to where I used to live before college to pick up my guitar. The main issue I think I will face is getting there and back, as I am going by Bus and have certain people I would like to see.
Ok so I tried jumping into learning modes far too soon than I should have. I relized this and started working on the scales. Well memorizing patterns will only get me so far, and theory-wize is not the wisest thing to do. So now I am learning each and every single note on the guitar, up to the 12th fret as it repeats itself. I am using this site's tool. Once I mater that, I plan to start learning all the scales, or at least the most important ones to begin.
So I suppose I am now engaging more in theaory, but I am still doing all the excersizes to strengthen my fingers and make playing more fluid, and also practicing techniques that I still have not yet masteres, such as slides, hammer-ons, and pull-offs. And quite a few others.
I am still saving for that guitar. I will need that new amp too eventually but it will have to wait. Im still not entierely sure which one I should like.
Oh, and now I need another hard-drive. I am not risking an external one, too many instances of those crashing, so I think a terrabyte hard drive should do. Not that expensive, and I would use mainly for storage of music and videos.
I went down to the Dairy Queen, and had submitted an application a few months ago. Well I have been informed that I may have a job lined up for the summer or March hopefully. And then my grandmother is sending me down some money, as it is near my 18th birthday. And im sure my parents will be giving me some as well. These combines will hopefully ammount to 100-200 dollars. And the job would be steady income I split between college and this gift to myself.
I am $400 close, but need another $600. My b-day is coming up, I hope I get lucky. Also, I may be getting a new job soon, so half of my earnings will be set aside for this. I refuse to do the no payment until a year later deal. You have no idea what will come up in your life(college for me) and can affect whether you have the money then or not. SO this will be all through hard work. I also plan to get these 2 pickups to add to it. http://accessories.musiciansfriend.com/product/DiM arzio-DP213-PAF-Joe-Satriani-Pickup?sku=309373 http://accessories.musiciansfriend.com/product/DiM arzio-DP216-Mo-Joe-Bridge-Pickup-?sku=309382 Then the guitar will be good enough for me. I then need to upgrade to a new amp, as the one I currently have is great, but only good for rehearsal or practice. But that will be awhile yet, I plan to get something actually good.
