My personal aim is to finish my second solo album, at the moment it has just been rough sketches of songs and chords. But 10 days in I am looking like this:
Too Many Problems
So Close, So Far
And this evening I have written a new song that will be entitled Solace.
My album will be in the style of the 2 acoustic songs from the July album challenge (Summer's Night and The Bliss). The songs will be mostly influenced by artists like Nick Drake, Bob Dylan, Bert Jansch, Scott Matthews and Bon Iver, to name a few.
I will be using my Tanglewood acoustic guitar, my keyboard for piano, violins or other folk instruments, a Squier P-Bass for....ur...bass and an SM58 for my vocals. I have some bongos that I would like to add, but I don't have any better mics than the 58 which only really does vocals.
My audio interface is a Line 6 UX1 and the DAW will be Reaper 3.75
EDIT: Have recorded the backing track for Solace, vocals will be recorded when no one is home
So, I haven't done anything towards my album today. This morning I went into college to finalise the song I'm taking to the uni interview. I jammed a bit on my acoustic when I got back, but had no proper time to record the vocals for Solace. Had a gig with my band in the evening, soundcheck was at 5pm, just got back, so no real time to do anything today.
Tomorrow (13) I get the train to Liverpool for my interview on monday morning, I come back monday evening. I might get some lyrics written on the train, a song about the journey would be nice I guess.
