It wasn't so much the advice they gave me, in fact they didn't give me any, I left too soon. As soon as I started reading some threads the vibe just wasn't as good as UG. I mean, all in all, UG is a fairly friendly place, and TalkBass was friendly, but it was still in a very "I'm better than you are" way. MAG600 into an Avatar 4x10. No question. I would waffle over the Carvin or the Ashdown, but in the end, I would more than likely go with the MAG600. I might go with a MAG300 but I think that extra headroom will come in mighty handy. The Avatar is pretty much a fixture in the stack no matter what happens. Well, if you really want that Carvin sound (i.e. complete and utter tonal transparency) then you could go with the BX600, which is cheaper, and unless you need 1200 watts, I'm sure it'll be good. If you're not too set on the Carvin sound, why don't you go with the MAG300 and the Avatar 410? Since you live in the U.S. you only pay 399 for the Avatar (we canucks pay 570 for ours), and the MAG410 is 299 for the cab alone (by the way, the head+stack is cheaper than the combo). You could even go for the 212, and spend even less, plus, leave room for a much more portable stack if you want to throw on a 115 or 210. The reason I like the Carvin is because it can run on 2 ohms. I like that because if I want a good bit of volume from an amp then I'll need a 4 ohm cab combo, and since I can only afford one cab at the beginning, I would prefer to have 4 ohms to get a good chunk of wattage out of the head. But if I want to add another cab onto the 4 ohm one it'll blow up the Ashdown, but the Carvin'll handle it. Augh! This is hell.

Actually I would have like LSU to go to the national championship, they're in the SEC. When a school from the SEC goes every school in the SEC gets part of that money that comes with winning a National Championship, but Auburn wouldnt know anything about that. Plus that team is all of Sabans old player and I would like to see them get something for it considering they are under a moron of a coach right now who is about to up and leave them.
