The whole thing is great, first song to the last. They have some Mastodon characteristics. More post-rock/metal, lots of sludge, low tuned guitars, raspy and clean vocals. Pretty progressive. Each song creates it's own atmosphere, if that makes any sense. They have a new album coming out in October, I just pre-ordered it. When you get around to listening to them, let me know what you think. |
Dude, I checked out Baronness, really good stuff, reminded me of Mastodon.
Thanks for the recommendations.

BTW, how did you coil tap your soloist, because I might do that if I get the SL2H model. | The standard '59 pickup in the neck is a 2 conductor pickup, and thus not splittable. So you have to put in a splittable 4 conductor pickup you like and replace the tone or volume pot with a push/pull pot, and wire the whole thing like it should. There are alot of wiring schemes on the internet that show how you must do it. If you're not certain of what you're doing, just take it to a tech and let him do it. Should cost you around 30$ for the push pull pot + installation of the splitted 4 cond. pickup.

Hey, you just described two guitars to me in a thread, the Jackson and PRS. Would you be able to compare the three different necks to a Jackson soloist neck? Like which PRS is most similar to the Jackson. Thanks.
BTW, your guitars are killer. I'm diggin the coil tapped soloist. |
There is no PRS neck that is kinda similar to a Jackson neck. The only thing you really can do now is test for yourself and make your own mind up.

HIM%(^ wrote on Jan 17th, 2009 7:06amnoo hahah. i took a glass slide that you put over your fingers..like what blues players use. and i played it over the pickups. so like..instead of stopping at the 24th fret..you can just slide as far up as you want. it almost soundsl ike a continuum synth if youve ever listened to dream theater.. quote |
HIM%(^ wrote on Jan 16th, 2009 11:56pmthanks man..that actually wasnt a whammy bar..however i get that alot. it was actually a slide that i used above the neck quote |
