the city I live in is pretty lame actually, it's up north more that's good for ska punk and stuff. The only time we have a really good turnout is when we are the union plays because everyone loves them

There used to be a real sick band like that from here that just broke up. Well if were ever in florida or your ever in Canada/ Detroit area, we'll have to get in touch and hook something up. |
We have a Michigan band coming down here tomorrow night we're playing with called we are the union. Are you referring to the flaming tsunamis?

hoppusfan182 wrote on Apr 8th, 2009 2:30pmMy picking is pretty sloppy too, which is why i play with my fingers now all the time, i can do that a lot cleaner and its a little easier. But i love picking, i just haven't cleaned it up too much yet. That other song is sick, i love how you guys do punk breakdowns, its so bad ass. You guys are sick hahaha seriously i like what you guys are doing.
We have a myspace just no recordings posted yet, my guitarist said he's gonna post em soon so ill send ya the link when we have em up.

hoppusfan182 wrote on Apr 2nd, 2009 8:37pmhaha no problem, i really think you guys are sick. Oh i forgot to tell you that you're a sick bassist, the bass line on snitches get stitches is awesome. If you guys get to come to new york im defiantly going to see, hopefully ill be able to drive this summer. Tell me when you guys get your demo all packaged and stuff cuz i would like to somehow get it.
I went to a studio with my band a few weeks ago and they had some pretty awesome equipment to use (the recording came out like shit) anyways one of the cabs they had was a mesa 212 and it was awesome! it had a pretty good low end and it was so punchy, i loved it. I just remembered that cuz u have a mesa 212. If only i had the cash hahaha.
Keep it up dude. laterr quote |
hoppusfan182 wrote on Mar 28th, 2009 5:50pmhey bro hows it going?
i saw your UROTM, its friggin amazing man and the song on your profile is awesome! you're bass tone is sick. I've had a bunch of friends listen to the song on here and they think its awesome cant wait till you put more up. You guys are sick, when you tour you should definatly come to long island

thefitz wrote on Dec 9th, 2008 7:43amRight on. I'm in the studio on the 29th but will record my bass using my SWR's DI and later Ampeg SVX. That was, the guitar man can put his amp in the vocal booth, the drummer can have the main room, and I can share it with him DI. We can all play together, having 100% isolated tracks, since the guitar's in the iso booth and my bass is DI. Not only will that save a lot of time, it'll really help the energy of the track because we're playing together. quote |
thefitz wrote on Dec 8th, 2008 8:56pmYou see, I really love my 212/115 sound, but the cabs I'm using have quirks - the 115 doesn't have enough power handling and blows nothing but air when I hit a low B at high volumes, and the 212 has a non-adjustable/defeatable tweeter always on full with a low crossover of 3.5kHz. It's really hissy and noisy and makes distortion sound quite harsh. The Mesa not only has a tweeter volume, you can adjust the crossover... and that's huge. I'm guessing I'll love 4kHz.
I'm not a big fan of 10's really - yes they're punchy but I find their tonal response to be quite 'narrow' - but that's pretty much how you define punchy. A bullet will get deeper into a wall than a wrecking ball would, but the wrecking ball leaves a bigger mark. Being in a band with one guitar, I'm more concerned about being a wrecking ball (with 12's and 15's) and covering up more sonic space than being a bullet (12's and 10's) and punching through. quote |
thefitz wrote on Dec 6th, 2008 6:21amI'm really considering buying a Mesa/Boogie Powerhouse 212. I'll run it mono-bridge for now with my SM-900. I'll get a Big Ben later. What say you? What do you think of the cab? quote |
hoppusfan182 wrote on Nov 28th, 2008 2:26pmsounds awesome man! I checked out your bands myspace and from what i heard you guys are pretty sick, i want to hear those recordings when your done haha. Congrats on your gear dude sounds awesome, the only new stuff i bought is a boss odb-3 overdrive pedal, i'm not a big overdrive guy but i put it on dry and i get a little punch but nothing huge, i got a long list of stuff for christmas hah. If you do get to come to long island i would love to see that! Good luck with your recording =] peace. quote |

Probably my old band i was in in highschool. GNF? anyways, yeah were all pretty tight in aburg. I'll roll through there now sometimes to visit my parents and i don't recognize a soul. It's strange.
And to add to the insaneness that we both sorta know each other, The girl I live with went to highschool with you and played drums to "dani california" in your talent show. Fucking weird, sir. |
I'm from LaSalle, so I have a natural grudge against Aburg. xD
I spent alot of time there when me and Abi were dating and I was always like,
"lets... go somewhere else." Haha.
Haha yeah. Amanda.
She also played drums with us when we played Makedamnsure and Misery Business. She was always a safe bet. :]

QuiatFat wrote on Oct 24th, 2008 2:29amI went to your bands MySpace.
Then to your MySpace.
And saw you were from Aburg.
And I went on a limb because it seems like everyone in Aburg seems to know eachother. xD
But yeah, she's my ex-girlfriend. You can probably find me on here ranting about the logistics of our breakup in some threads. xD quote |
QuiatFat wrote on Oct 21st, 2008 5:39amThis is gonna be really random.
Do you know Abi Bradwell? quote |
hoppusfan182 wrote on Oct 10th, 2008 9:42pmdamn man thats expensive stuff i wish i had that kind of money for gear, oh the things i would buy haha. Well I played guitar in a band for 5 years and I started a new band in which I play bass. So I get to start over again buying shit which is really fun for me. I collected some really nice guitar stuff and now I'm onto bass. I picked up a Squier VM jazz and threw a quarter pounder into it and now i'm looking for a better amp. How's that aerodyne jazz? those things look badass
Oh yeah, and if your still looking for a bass amp, I have one for sale. Keep it real man. |
