'Ello I'm Vicen and I enjoy recreational drug use, pleasantly mannered kittens, quantum physics, Marlboro Red 100's, the teachings of the Buddha, staying up all night recording songs with my friends on a shitty hand recorder with acoustic guitars, walking around town avoiding the police, pretty girls with short fuses and flowers in their hair, volkswagen buses, the Beatles, the intricate balance of the universe and all of its properties, pizza rolls, Modest Mouse, running water, Big Rock Candy Mountain, Philosophy, Psychology, the Philosophy of Psychology, the concept of New Zealand, being a fisherman, assortments of unique hats and headwear, using the world as my toilet, stealing from the pharmacy, eating a meatball marinara with provolone cheese, mayonnaise, mustard, lettuce, and peppercini's at subway, smoking hookah in tree houses watching horror movies, playing solitaire on the floor outside the pharmacy, smiles, megalodons, ostriches, badgers, accordions, my wonderful little town, the people in it and the good times to be had.
The songs I write are intentionally lo-fi, usually just acoustic guitar and cheap handheld recorder. Most of them are recorded the same night they are written, something to do on nights I'm tweeking with my friends or even when I'm crashing and mad at the world. If you listen to the Mountain Goats it should be pretty obvious that they are my main inspiration. Thanks to anyone who takes the time to listen, and comments are welcome. I mostly just write for the lyrics, get all the bad vibes out, that sort of shit.
My greatest passion and interest beyond all others is the psychoactive chemical Lysergic Acid Diethylamide and its amazing potential in relation to human consciousness. I have aided others, and even myself, in both removing undesired psychological traits (depression, anxiety, addiction, etc.) and in attaining higher levels of understanding to better coexist in natural order and solve seemingly difficult problems, with the use of this wonderful chemical. Albert Hoffman once said, "LSD is a tool to turn us into what we are supposed to be." Ego death leads to objectivity, objectivity leads to logic, logic leads to problem solving, knowledge, understanding, and enlightenment. If used properly, with care and understanding, LSD has the potential to answer any and every conceivable question (if your belief of the world is in a purely logical/mathematical/deterministic one) through this method of action. Yet, it is labeled just a drug of abuse, minimal research being done, and what is is hardly taken seriously. There are people taking it who don't take the time to understand what they put in their bodies, and end up getting scared and doing something stupid that gets blamed on the drug. And while there's plenty of information on the drug (before it was illegalized it was the most researched psychoactive), the consensus in the public eye is that its a dangerous substance and a "hard" drug. Pity.
