My plan for the future

My friend down in New Orleans called me up one day this month and asked, "Hey man, wanna be in a band with me?" I went apeshit, I was so happy. My best friend and I are gonna start a band after high school. He wants to call it "Nightmare Fantasies". I'm all like "Okay, cool man". I don't care what our name is all that much. But right now we are writing, or I am. And we are learning Rush songs. Him and I are both learning YYZ. I am learning Red Barchetta myself right now. I'm almost done with that song. I'm trying to make it sound as clear as possible. The only troublesome part is the chorus-laden arpeggios in the 1st verse. It's not hard to play, but to make it sound clean is not easy for me. My friend plays bass, and I play guitar and sing.

A song that I really wanna cover someday is something by Soundgarden, either Burden In My Hand, or Rhinosaur. I love the album, Down On The Upside. But, my friend doesn't really listen to Soundgarden, which sucks!

Him and I both love Rush, but he also likes 80s Hair Metal, and I like 90s Grunge and Alt/Hard Rock, and Desert Rock (like Kyuss) from that time. He's 80s, I'm 90s. But we'll figure something out. Some sort of compromise will come through. But we both enjoy prog rock.

Recently, the production crew for the show "MADE" on MTV came by my school. Everybody wanted me on that show, but I told them to fuck off. I hate fabricated loopholes in the music industry that anybody can crawl through. I want to earn notoriety the old fashioned way, and just have fun while making a living. I love playing the guitar.

More to come.
