Life, Lost and Found. Part 4

The age old question, the age old dichotomy of darkness and light, of good and evil, or bliss and of pain, of black and white, of ying and yang. This Dichotomy is so pre-dominant in ancient times, in present and in future, that many of us base our whole lives around it.

To put it crudely and to not go on for pages without a point is that good versus evil; dark verses light; are just human concepts. They are just human concepts of separation in the mind, of what one likes, and what one dislikes.

The idea of good versus evil was first started in ancient times, with pagan sun worship, and it is obvious as to why. In the morning, the sun would rise, bringing warmth, security, and light for the crops, from which man harvests his food. In the morning the sun would rise and take away the dangerous, despairing darkness of night.

And in the evening, the sun would go away, again causing the insecurity of darkness, and then in the morning, it would rise up again to “save” its worshippers.

The idea of the dark being insecure and despairing is purely human consciousness. Humanity has not evolved to a stage where sight in the dark is possible, and not being able to see, is a primary human fear. Any loss of primary sense is a large fear which mankind possesses. Whether sight, speech, or sound. From which, comes the saying, “hear no evil, speak no evil, see no evil”. Human consciousness has an imagination, and through darkness, when man cannot see (modern days we have sources of light, while remember in ancient times, this was at most impossible) the subconscious of man awakens. And through this subconscious, man personifies his own fears, and creates “demons”. This evolved to the “demons” or “devils” in which people believe and mostly fear today.

After an age period, the ancients started observing the stars, and the planets. The constellations, which they were called, played a huge role in ancient belief. The ancients observed and confirmed that the sun moved through 12 different periods (Later becoming the 12 months of the year) and they personified those 12 periods with human traits, humans and animals. Thus creating what we call “star-signs”, such as Virgo, Cancer, Pisces, Sagittarius, and so on. Humanity at that time worshipped the sun, and named it as their “God” because of its bountiful energy and it’s “ray/light of hope” which awakened them every morning.

Thus sprang the first religions, and many after, such as the Egyptian Pagan religion which worshipped Horis, the Sun God. Basically, every morning Horis would fight against Set, the Night God, and would win, while every evening they would fight again, and this time Set would win the battle, causing darkness over the world. This is the ground basis for many, and in fact most religions. The personification of Good versus Evil is just personification of pure astrology.

My mindset when I was younger was as such, which I had written down:

A question comes to mind. Does God really exist? I don’t want to believe. Darwin’s theory is such bullshit it is almost hilarious. But science doesn’t explain anything. There is a spiritual world out there. My own eyes are proof. If god came out of the clouds and told us he is there, life would be so much easier?

Why?

Because everyone would want to go to heaven, there would not be any crime, and no violence. But God doesn’t show himself and we really and frankly don’t care what happens, and we get on with our lives.

So what is the beginning? The big bang Theory?

Could be, so where does god come in here, is he the atom that started the chain reaction?

Philosophically speaking, nothing can happen on its own accord. So where does the movement of space and galaxies come from? Maybe the collection and uncompressing of molecules in space. Some People might say that there is nothing in space, that person is hugely mistaken, for the shear and basic fact is that if there was really nothing in space then radio waves could not travel between a craft and earth. There is something there but what it is has not been found yet.

And thus, my mindset has evolved and grown, but it has not changed into a different direction. A spirit world is there in my eyes, but the only proof one can have of it, is if one has experienced it. I shall not write what I have experienced, for it is inconsequential to this. Indeed, no one has experienced God in form, and no one should pretend to. There are people however, who have experienced other plains than this one, people who have experienced the astral plain, the spiritual plain, the plain of demons, angels, myths and legends. They are real to those who believe in them. As I have before written, what we believe and what we see is what is real to us, even though it may not be real to others.

The initial thought is (and I use the term God for loss of a better word) à

I do not know what God Is, but I know what he is not.

And he is not a being used for excuse of one’s actions.

Religion should not be used as justification for your own actions. You control your own life, maybe not your own future, if that is what your belief is, but you do control your own life. It is YOU who decides to drink coffee in the morning, and it is YOU who decides to kill someone. Not anyone or anything else. All of your actions derive from you. May your belief be that your God has planned out your life, and your God knows your future? That God however, gives you free will, and all he does is give you a point to reach, and lets you decide how to reach it. The Spiral of life has only one centre, and many ways to get there.

Why is it, that the words coincidence, destiny and fate always start a religious argument?

Why do things always get blamed on religion, and not always in a bad way, in a good way too?

Coincidence, what is the coincidence that one day you meet a person and the next day you meet them again? Or any other example as well.

It all comes down to choice. What you choose to do influences your life, and what the other person chooses to do influences their life. So if the two coincide, who cares?

Its not god who made you 2 meet, it’s both YOUR coinciding choices.

I shall not delve into religion any longer, although it plays a crucial role.

To man, it is all perception, and it is all instinct. One follows their instinct and impulses at most times in their life, and man evolves or follows what he/she is taught. Therefore creating different sides of a story, and none may have the exact same belief. It is true however, that some see darkness as aesthetic, while some see it as repulsive. Such is the same with Good and Evil, with healing and pain, and all other such dichotomies. Man is so diverse at this present age that literally everything will have at least two sides to it.

This may be because of man’s natural instinct to rebel, or this may be because of man’s ignorance, or pure, plain boredom.

Nice. Out of curiosity, what are your beliefs on free will? I can't remember if you've ever posted about it in the religion thread.

Hmmm. Free will... I find it to be a hypocracy of Christianity and Religion, one of many. Haven't really figured out my thoughts on that as of yet.
