The age old question, the age old dichotomy of darkness and light, of good and evil, or bliss and of pain, of black and white, of ying and yang. This Dichotomy is so pre-dominant in ancient times, in present and in future, that many of us base our whole lives around it.
To put it crudely and to not go on for pages without a point is that good versus evil; dark verses light; are just human concepts. They are just human concepts of separation in the mind, of what one likes, and what one dislikes.
The idea of good versus evil was first started in ancient times, with pagan sun worship, and it is obvious as to why. In the morning, the sun would rise, bringing warmth, security, and light for the crops, from which man harvests his food. In the morning the sun would rise and take away the dangerous, despairing darkness of night.
And in the evening, the sun would go away, again causing the insecurity of darkness, and then in the morning, it would rise up again to “save” its worshippers.
The idea of the dark being insecure and despairing is purely human consciousness. Humanity has not evolved to a stage where sight in the dark is possible, and not being able to see, is a primary human fear. Any loss of primary sense is a large fear which mankind possesses. Whether sight, speech, or sound. From which, comes the saying, “hear no evil, speak no evil, see no evil”. Human consciousness has an imagination, and through darkness, when man cannot see (modern days we have sources of light, while remember in ancient times, this was at most impossible) the subconscious of man awakens. And through this subconscious, man personifies his own fears, and creates “demons”. This evolved to the “demons” or “devils” in which people believe and mostly fear today.
After an age period, the ancients started observing the stars, and the planets. The constellations, which they were called, played a huge role in ancient belief. The ancients observed and confirmed that the sun moved through 12 different periods (Later becoming the 12 months of the year) and they personified those 12 periods with human traits, humans and animals. Thus creating what we call “star-signs”, such as Virgo, Cancer, Pisces, Sagittarius, and so on. Humanity at that time worshipped the sun, and named it as their “God” because of its bountiful energy and it’s “ray/light of hope” which awakened them every morning.
Thus sprang the first religions, and many after, such as the Egyptian Pagan religion which worshipped Horis, the Sun God. Basically, every morning Horis would fight against Set, the Night God, and would win, while every evening they would fight again, and this time Set would win the battle, causing darkness over the world. This is the ground basis for many, and in fact most religions. The personification of Good versus Evil is just personification of pure astrology.
My mindset when I was younger was as such, which I had written down:
A question comes to mind. Does God really exist? I don’t want to believe. Darwin’s theory is such bullshit it is almost hilarious. But science doesn’t explain anything. There is a spiritual world out there. My own eyes are proof. If god came out of the clouds and told us he is there, life would be so much easier?
Why?
Because everyone would want to go to heaven, there would not be any crime, and no violence. But God doesn’t show himself and we really and frankly don’t care what happens, and we get on with our lives.
So what is the beginning? The big bang Theory?
Could be, so where does god come in here, is he the atom that started the chain reaction?
Philosophically speaking, nothing can happen on its own accord. So where does the movement of space and galaxies come from? Maybe the collection and uncompressing of molecules in space. Some People might say that there is nothing in space, that person is hugely mistaken, for the shear and basic fact is that if there was really nothing in space then radio waves could not travel between a craft and earth. There is something there but what it is has not been found yet.
And thus, my mindset has evolved and grown, but it has not changed into a different direction. A spirit world is there in my eyes, but the only proof one can have of it, is if one has experienced it. I shall not write what I have experienced, for it is inconsequential to this. Indeed, no one has experienced God in form, and no one should pretend to. There are people however, who have experienced other plains than this one, people who have experienced the astral plain, the spiritual plain, the plain of demons, angels, myths and legends. They are real to those who believe in them. As I have before written, what we believe and what we see is what is real to us, even though it may not be real to others.
The initial thought is (and I use the term God for loss of a better word) à
I do not know what God Is, but I know what he is not.
And he is not a being used for excuse of one’s actions.
Religion should not be used as justification for your own actions. You control your own life, maybe not your own future, if that is what your belief is, but you do control your own life. It is YOU who decides to drink coffee in the morning, and it is YOU who decides to kill someone. Not anyone or anything else. All of your actions derive from you. May your belief be that your God has planned out your life, and your God knows your future? That God however, gives you free will, and all he does is give you a point to reach, and lets you decide how to reach it. The Spiral of life has only one centre, and many ways to get there.
Why is it, that the words coincidence, destiny and fate always start a religious argument?
Why do things always get blamed on religion, and not always in a bad way, in a good way too?
Coincidence, what is the coincidence that one day you meet a person and the next day you meet them again? Or any other example as well.
It all comes down to choice. What you choose to do influences your life, and what the other person chooses to do influences their life. So if the two coincide, who cares?
Its not god who made you 2 meet, it’s both YOUR coinciding choices.
I shall not delve into religion any longer, although it plays a crucial role.
To man, it is all perception, and it is all instinct. One follows their instinct and impulses at most times in their life, and man evolves or follows what he/she is taught. Therefore creating different sides of a story, and none may have the exact same belief. It is true however, that some see darkness as aesthetic, while some see it as repulsive. Such is the same with Good and Evil, with healing and pain, and all other such dichotomies. Man is so diverse at this present age that literally everything will have at least two sides to it.
This may be because of man’s natural instinct to rebel, or this may be because of man’s ignorance, or pure, plain boredom.
What we think and believe to be real, is what is real to us. For instance, a person stands in front of me. I think and believe that the person is standing in front of me, the nerves and the senses through my eyes and my brain tell me that the person is there, and I choose to believe those impulses sent. Therefore, that person is real to me. But if I did not?
If I chose to not see the person, if I choose not to look at a beggar, or I simply do not notice a person, then, it is such that that person is not real to me. And I am ignorant of their physical being.
Everyone lives in their own universe, together creating a multiverse. At times, what we believe and think to be real may cause an intersection of our own personal universes. And at other times, we are ignorant to the realities which others hold. In Essence, each person has his or her own reality, has their beliefs, disbeliefs, ignorance, and perception. Whether they co-inside with the reality of others is a personal issue.
Ignorance is bliss, as the saying goes. Bus is it truly so?
Many people keep to their own personal lives and remain ignorant to what is happening around them. Whether this be war, murder or poverty, it may be anything. Ignorant to the war against you, the human being. Ignorant to the amount of control which is exercised over you. Through government, war, media and all other influences. Does one not believe that one’s life has value?
And one still remains ignorant, ignorant to the government killing it’s own people for a useless cause, ignorant to all that wills to control you, ignorant to the fact that YOU ARE controlled.
“The enlightened ones” some may call them… “Superhumans” others may label them.. And such many were, but I would not divide. Out of personal moral and decency if not anything else. All humanity has the capability to become gods, only some reach it, but in essence, whether ignorant or not, all have their own reality, and sometimes the only connection one reality may have with another is the material human being.
We all go through different experiences at different times, and through those we create thoughts of what life means to us. Those thoughts however are not directly linked, which is why man has to live to fill the holes. This is the main reason, why would should not be ignorant. If one wills to create a meaning for one’s life, then ignorance is one of the worst traits one can have…
The question is personal and depending on time, as at different times, our views and mindsets grow, creating our own definitions and meanings in separate segments. An ignorant person, is exactly the same as all, we are all ignorant in some way, because man cannot be omniscient.
But one should strive against it. One should strive towards realism, the doubt and critiquing of all, the knowledge of having a positive and a negative outcome, and the ability to perceive both, and prepare to react against both. One should strive towards being real, being above, and being yourself.
There are many ways of which one may look at life. Life can be viewed from personal perspective, from an attempt at others’ perspective, social, mental, spiritual and emotional perspective.
Let us observe the first of these. Life at a personal perspective, all depends on your perception and your mindset. It is how you see things that matter in this, and how other people may react to what you see and what your actions are.
The most important thing that one must remember is that Life is Life. No matter how many things come past, whether good or bad, if one is still alive, then there is still more to come, and no one knows whether this will be good, or bad. And the end is not what one should will to come upon one’s self.
Many years ago, my mindset was crudely like this:
“Suicide is such an easy way out. I have caught my mind considering it a number of times.
A high building, 15 grams of lead, a hot bath and a close shave. The only reason I am here to write these meaningless words is because I want to see the terrible ending.
If the fortune teller didn’t, then the ending is so. Often hard years of not making ends meet,
Losing everything and everyone through death. Retired, lonely and dying of starvation, my soul starts to finally roam the world. On the 42nd day my soul vanishes and leaves this place of hatred and violence, unhappy and unfulfilled.. Thereafter the story ends, the lights fade and the TV is switched off.”
Now however my mind set has changed. One wonders why.
Suicide is not a way out. Whether this is thought out of religious belief, out of common superstition, or any of such forms of faith and mindset, the main point is that suicide, is plainly and crudely giving up. There are many things that may cause one to give up hope; to wish everything to end, to wish it all to disappear so to speak. One must remember however, that action causes reaction, and how one has acted in the past, shows how one will experience in the future.
True, the actions of other people reflect on your future as well, but direct actions cause direct consequences, and if the right actions are made, then one will know whether the consequences are stemming from one ’s self or from others. If one knows that he/she himself/herself is/are to blame, then a dilemma shows up, and one has to decide whether they are strong enough to move forward or not. This is one of the most important things that we must remember. We have to decide whether we are the ones to blame for current situations or not. This is because many blame themselves for everything happening around them, being pessimistic or of such negative mindset. This however, is incorrect, and should be fought against. No-one is ever the blame for everything, for one person cannot control everything, no person is as of yet a god.
The people who come closest to this are Presidents, Congressmen, Religious Leaders and such, because of the large amount of influence which they inflict upon their fellow man. And I say FELLOW man, because they are still men, whether believed to be blessed or not, they are still HUMAN, and are thus still limited, as are all of us.
Depending on the situation and how one emotionally and spiritually feels about the situation, one will decide how to act, or to react. Emotion and one’s spirit (spirit is stated for those who believe that their soul possesses this material body) are two of the strongest forces or powers which a human may possess. These two, control our impulses, our intuition, our thoughts, and at many a time, our actions.
When Aleksei was but 15 years old, he took the narcotic substance known as “acid”, and he called out to God. He called out and prayed and wept, for no God came to him in his remorse, and in his melancholy. Aleksei then called out to Satan, and Satan came to him.
Aleksei raised his teary eyes to the Lord of Destruction in front of him and asked, “Why is it that you come unto me, while God does not?” and Satan looked down upon him and said, “Because I care for those who care not for imperfection, I care for those who accept me, and I hurt those who do not… For I am real, and in my eyes, I am God”.
Throughout the next few days, Aleksei called out and wept to God, and he did scream to the heavens, “In my eyes I am perfect; I am in the image of you, why do you not speak to me? Are you not willing to bring yourself down for those who love you? Are you such an arrogant being?”
But still, no answer came.
Aleksei again called out to Satan, and asked him, “Why is it, that God does not answer my callings?”, and Satan looked to Aleksei and answered, “It is because only the worthy keep faith without knowing, and God will only accept those into heaven, who accept being below, and who accept being tortured with doubt and unknowing the truth”.
Aleksei raised his head, and asked, “Why is the perfect being a sadist?” and was replied, “Because as all who are hurt and proved wrong, he wills not to have perfection around him, thus was I banished from the heavens, as I believed myself to perfection, but the arrogant being whom you call ‘God’, would not accept such”. Aleksei turned his back on Satan, and looked unto the horizon asking, “If you believe yourself to be perfect, and God knew it to be true, how is it that he had the power to banish you?” and Satan appeared in front of him again, looking into the eyes of Aleksei, answering: “Because both me and God have different perceptions of perfection, and as he thinks he is perfect, I do think all others are perfect, and the way they were meant; for I accept those who are different, while God wills all to be the same…”
That's quite a random rant, written in about 10 minutes
Two very profound questions that mankind has asked are ‘what is the meaning of life?’ and ‘Why does one have faith, without knowledge or proof?’ These two questions are closely linked. Does anyone know the answer? Not fully. But one has to know to a certain degree, for one keeps on living, one has to be alive…
It is all hope. This plain and simple word explains and defines so many of life’s experiences and questions that mankind asks…
What is the meaning of life? Is it preparation or a test? Or is it the end? Are we on this earth to witness the apocalypse, whether personal or complete? Will we all experience oblivion? Does that not make life meaningless? Why live if there is nothing after?
Personally, I will to see what happens after this life, and will not be disappointed with oblivion, because I will not be able to be disappointed.
Yet, why do people ask for the meaning of life? Why do people debate about it? Is it not illogical to ask the meaning of a subject matter, without knowing what it is?
However that is easily explained. There are many people who believe that they know what life is, what it holds, and how it can be defined. But is this true, or is this just from a personal perspective? To know what life is, one has to learn and experience life from many different angles, and it is impossible to experience all perspectives.
That is why the meaning of life will never be general, because however the answer may be found, it would be the meaning for an individual, or at most, for a certain group of people. There is too much diversity, and too many individuals on this earth for a general meaning.
It may be that one asks this question from a personal view, but why does man ask others? This may either be because of curiosity, or because of the influence that human beings play on their fellow beings. Does man require re-assurance from others? A renewal of hope if you will…
People have to believe in the immortality of spirit. It is natural human instinct; man wills to be alive and thus finds death repulsive. One has throughout life heard of or seen death. Thus, man knows that immortality cannot yet be possible, and that he/she cannot be materially immortal (being conscious inside a material body), although it may be possible in the future. If one doesn’t believe in immortality of spirit, one’s soul, hope and ability to carry on may crumble, for one will not find reason for existence.
For many people, there is no feeling more important than hope. Whether this is knowledge to them or not, it is true to most. Individually or collectively, we must hope that the future will be better than the past, that our children, and theirs after them, will be a bit closer to an ideal society, whatever our perception of that might be.
The future will be better than the past, or the present, that the efforts of living a proper life in one’s perspective will be rewarded in the next plane of existence, whether heaven, hell, limbo, or whatever one’s perspective of a reward may be. Without this belief, this hope, there is only the self-indulgent, empty striving of the present or simple despair, the time of life wasted in waiting for death…
This is why the question is asked, and why people have faith in a certain Religion or belief system, the hope that man obtains and the thought of oblivion from which most attempt to abstain, to have a reason to carry on, the promise of eternal bliss and reward in the next existence...
