Beer, Beer, Beer

This blog is going to outline some of my favourite beers from varying locations, styles, cask, bottles, breweries, countries etc etc. If by the end of it you endeavour to seek out and sample some of these delicious brews then I know I'll have done a good job. I'll try and give a small description of the beer in question also.

Abbeydale Moonshine

This beer comes from Sheffield, as I'm sure you can tell from the picture, and is a reasonably light ale in taste and colour with hints of fruit in its flavour. Some people, such as my Dad, have a bad reaction to it and end up with a headache the next morning so caution may be advisable when drinking this.

Millstone Baby Git

I know the picture isn't actually the clip from Baby Git but Google failed me in my quest to find one. Again, this beer is quite light and mildly fruity. It also has a counterpart called Old Git that carries a similar taste but has a higher ABV percentage. This beer is found mainly in the North of England in the counties of Yorkshire, Lancashire and occassionally in the Midland area.

Kelham Island Pale Rider & Brooklyn Smoked Porter

This beer, that I have drunk in great excess over the past three Christmasses, is a traditional ale with a slightly bitter taste but is extremely drinkable. What's more is, it's available to buy directly from the brewery in kegs of 9 or 18 gallons.

A porter, for those of you who don't know, can best be described as a cross between a stout (Like Guinness) and a dark ale. The result is a very dark coloured liquid with a brown coloured head. This particular porter has a very smoky flavour and is quite filling but still manages to be particularly moreish.

Bottled Beers

Theakston's Old Peculier

This is a beer that I'm sure many of the British proper beer drinkers will have tried as it's readily available in most supermarkets. A reasonably strong, dark ale with a ruby colour and a slight hint of caramel in its flavour.

Badger Golden Glory

A very refreshing ale with a strong fruity, hoppy taste but maintains a very nice bitterness about it. Again, available in most British supermarkets but the bottle will be differently shaped. (Old bottle FTW).

Continental Beers

Chimay

Belgian beer brewed by trappist monks. They have a rather high ABV percentage and can't really be drunk in large amounts without getting completely shitfaced. Very nice flavour nonetheless with colours ranging from very dark (blue), ruby beer (maroon) to blonde beer (white).

Duvel

Another Belgian beer. A strong lager with a particularly large amount of fizz to it. I find it has a slight taste of Ribena in it though no one else seems to think that so you'll have to judge for yourselves.

Faxe

What can I say? It's 10% beer in a litre can, what's not to like about that?

There ends my minimal guide to beers that I find a delight to drink. If anyone has any recommendations, I'd be glad to source them out and have a try of them. But please, Britfags and Eurofags only. American beer tastes like crap and will be impossible to get in my country. Enjoy.

Ohhaiguise

Current mood: chipper

Oh hai guise!

I appear to have ordered a Line 6 Vetta II

Due to this, I'm quite a happy chappy and I should be able to bring you some better quality recordings as I'll (hopefully) be able to record straight into my PC and do multi-tracks in Audacity and that.

And to you valve amp elitists, GTFO

Oh baby!

Current mood: Ecstatic

It hath arrived. The EC-1000 is an absolute babe, I recommend it to anyone who is wanting a new guitar of high quality. Dean guitars can still fuck off for anyone who read the blog below this. Those inconsiderate bastards don't even reply to emails telling them what a shitty company they're running. I stand by what I said in my post that got me banned, americans are such cunts.

Dean

Current mood: Pissed Off

Dean guitars can fuck off. No way am I waiting over a third of a year to maybe get a VMNT! Instead, I'll be cancelling my order for the mightily sexy Dave Mustaine sig. () and will most likely be ordering an LTD EC-1000 in Snow White because I can't be bothered waiting 3 weeks for the Vintage Black to maybe get in stock. What I'm really trying to say is....

FUCK YOU DEAN!!!!!!

Edit: Ordered the EC-1000 in snow white now, whoopchah!
