This is my last week in the Team. I was here for a little bit more than 4 years and I was trying to make UG the coolest site in the World! Now I've got a chance to start my own small business and I really can't miss this opportunity.
I really sorry if I offended someone, but I was just trying to make my job and make it best
All your further questions and requests regarding everything on the site you can address to matter - he will be the mainman in a week.
I want to thank everyone for the help.
Our Forum Mods Team is the best on the Inet! Thanks, guys and girls
Annie and Dave, you were helping me a lot during last year and I really appreciate this. I love you both very much. I can't even imagine what could I do without you!
UG will be the greatest community in the World, just stay tuned and you'll be a part of the Revolution!
This Album is simply.... Awesome and ill tell you why... its a story in a sense and a kinda 'Fuck You' to america..... the song American idiot is about not wanting to be apart of the american way of life... The Style is of course punk.... a way of life some will say... but almost everyone can relate to this album in some way or another even if your not a massive green day fan or rock fan.... theres something in there that u can say.. yh i hear what u say...
10/10 from me for the album
billie joe is a good Ab/G Key singer..... and mike dirnt is a good backing vocalist. the Lyrics are simple yet effective and the album continues its theme with 'St Jimmy' throughout and fuck you against america... love the lyrics... love the band love there work. 10/10 again
Overall Impression. //10
there is a lot of amazing albums.. but as a punk album with a story type theme to it... this album will appeal to everyone that listens to it , young and old. the most impressive song on the album is st jimmy... track 6... well its linked with track 5 - are we the waiting...
St Jimmy is excelent live.... from ' bullet in a bible.. again over all impression 10/10 Note that I do not correct anything in the worst reviews when post them here!
Yeeaah!! Contraband, you are a hero of the week! Thanks, man. And welcome back. I hope that's not your last submittions
And a Worst Review of the week is below:
Foo Fighters: Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace [ CD by Unregistered ]
Sound. //8 Wow, this album is amazing. Some of the songs realy seem to connect with the sound of their past albums, but this ablum is moving in such a new direction that it is hard to describe.
Lyrics. //9 Dave's lyrics contine to get better and better. Every line fits so perfectly with it's placement in the song that it is amazing.
Overall Impression. //9 It takes guts to put a mellow piano balled on a Rock album. Obviously these guys just love playing music more than what people think of their music. I will admit that a was slightly disappointed by In Your Honor, but this album exceeds all expectations. Definately some of their best songs yet. I really don't understand for what this guy has sent this crap. There's no any even solid and cleared-up thought...
Ok, now here's a good news -- finally there is a new tab approver on board, Foxxx! This was his first week; he's just learning and is working under my heedful direction. But remember -- I am still responsible for tabs, so send your "fuck you," "you're asshole" and "suck my dick" to my inbox.
Oh, almost forgot... Today I've got a PM form magnific0. He asks me, why I've banned his _magnific0_ account. For those who don't know -- multiple account is a reason to be banned or even banned forever! So keep this in your minds. But back to magnific0. This bastard has created almost TEN different accounts to submit one and the same tab under different artists and song titles and to vote for these tabs in our pre-approval system! For what? I believe to increase his UG Scores. How stupid. Don't do the same, my friends, otherwise I'll kill you!
Well, I think that's all. Thanks for your attention. Rock on!
Today's a day for the next "Top UG Reviews" installment. As I've promised you, I begin to publish some statistics relative to your contributions. Today I'd like to post a week chart of approved and declined reviews. Here it is:
Sound. //7 Okay, i saw them in concert... and the guy was a total asshole... so fucking arrogant... my gf gets me the cd... and its the same thing The sound is a bit junky, terribly repatative, with some GREAT power chords, i like the use of keyboards in open wounds. cycle down has a good sound Lyrics. //3 This is wear this cd SUCKS the lyrics aren't incredibely christian, they come across as arrogant and whiny... and the guy is not a good singer, at all i have many christian cds (kutless demonhunter norma jean as i lay dying becoming the archetype... and all are more uplifting than this one...)
Overall Impression. //5 I don't have any other skillet cds, and i don't want anymore the most ''impressive song'' is track 1 and 3... worst song is fingernails... easily I love the chords and the mixture with keyboards... i hate the singing if it was lost, i pray for whatever unlucky soul found it
Uuuuugh.... That's terrible! BTW, this guy has sent three reviews that day, all of them was crappy.
That's all I want to tell you today. Fell free to express your own opinion. Good luck!
Features. //7 Its a normal Stratocaster, cream colored with white pick guard. I have one volume control with two tone controls. Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Strat Sound. //8 I love it, nice Mark Knopfler(Dire Straits) sound. I don't use a pick so its even better. When i use a pick, its a little harder to get artificial harmonics on it,rather than using a Scheckter guitar or Ibanez. This kind of guitar isn't ment for a very loud or heavy distortion settings. Action, Fit & Finish. //6 No flaws, bridge is a little weak;it is very very easy to wammy, but other than that its great.THATS ALL IM WRITING THATS ALL IM WRITING THATS ALL IM WRITING THATS ALL IM WRITING THATS ALL IM WRITING THATS ALL IM WRITING THATS ALL IM WRITING THATS ALL IM WRITING THATS ALL IM WRITING THATS ALL IM WRITING THATS ALL IM WRITING THATS ALL IM WRITING THATS ALL IM WRITING THATS ALL IM WRITING THATS ALL IM WRITING THATS ALL IM WRITING THATS ALL IM WRITING THATS ALL IM WRITING
Reliability & Durability. //3 If i was playing Live, i would probably have a backup, the string break quiet easy for some reason..... Well, I'm always surprise how people could send such crappy reviews. Do they really hope their works will be approved? 'Nuff said.
Yeah, it's too short this time, but I promise to post some pretty interesting statistics in future cya
As I've announced in my previous blog, I'm going to post the Top of reviews weekly that you, our users, send us every day. Let's see how I'll choose them.
Content-richness. I hope there's no need to describe this point. Be creative! Try to cover all the aspects of product. This will help readers to make their own complete conclusion about the certain things they need. In a word -- the more useful information you will post the better!
Grammar, spelling, punctuation. Everything is clear with this point as well, I hope. Guys, it's really pain in the ass to correct every mistake, especially when there are 10-15 ones in a 5-words sentence! Don't be lazy, check your articles before submitting.
Composition. Well... I guess everyone agree with me that it's better to read an interesting, great composed material than just a few sentances without any solid idea. That's why I don't like all these "track-by-track" reviews etc., there is no any really 'overall impression' after reading, but just some separated thoughts here and there. I myself believe that there should be a solid narration, there one idea is following from the previous one. In this case it's really interesting to read.
Format. Ooh... This is the most difficult part of creation for you, guys. ) Most people try to mark out every part of their review. They write every second word with caps; they start every sentence with a new line; they try to highlite their text with a huge amount of '!!!!!', '?????', '......', remarks, smiles, lols etc. That makes me cry, guys. That makes me banging my head against a brick wall! But I humbly do my job.
Ok, that's the main criteria of my rating. And now let me present you Top UG Review on this week!
That are the reviews that impress me much more than others this week. And now I would like to present you the Worst Review of this week! Obviously it's not on the site, so I post it here.
Ibanez: GRG170DX [by unregistered user] as it was submitted!
Features. //8 I bought a 2007 Ibanez Gio GRG 170 DX. The Guitar features a 3 Powersound pick-up set (Bridge Humbucker, Middle Single Coil, Neck Humbucker). It has 24 large frets on a Rosewood fretboard. Basswood body, Rosewood fretboard. The Guitar is all passive. Black Finish One Volume, One Tone Fat10 bridge. Excellent features for the price.
Sound. //10 The guitar has a very clear sound. The bridge pickup is louder on clean due to the humbucker, and even the single coil has a higher output than most others. I use a Roland Cube 60 with very few effects (no tone repair). The sound comes through either crisp or clear, depending on tone setting.
Action, Fit & Finish. //7 The guitar's setup was excellent. The pickups were a little too high, but that is an easy fix. The bridge is connected properly. The truss rod was well set, and the intonation was excellent. The only problems were a small chip in the finish, and 2 buffs in the gloss finish.
Reliability & Durability. //8 The guitar is definately durable. The strap knobs are huge--which can be a slight disadvantage, but they hold the strap very well. I have not played a gig with this guitar yet, but I am very confindent in it. The finish had a few buffs in it, but will last for a long time, though I may have it sanded off and done matte.
Overall Impression. //8 This guitar matches my music style in looks and performance. It is a great metal guitar. I would not recommend it for jazz, though, due to the clean tone being a Metallica clean. If it were lost or stolen, I would definately be pissed, but hopefully the manufacturer's warranty would cover that. I may replace the bridge pickup with an active Seymour Duncan. Overall the guitar is great for anybody.
Sure, you can blame me, but that's my own point of view. I hope you get everything I want to make make clear for you. Any complaints and desires would be appreciated. Cheers!
I hope everyone knows me and knows what is my duties here, on UG. For those who doesn't know -- I am that asshole who deny (as well as approve btw) your tabs and reviews! Nice to meet you too.
OK, let's start... I know that almost half of UGers hates me. Why? Because they think I reject their contributions unjustly. Well, there is a probability, but only in one case of a thousand! Yes, my fault... But the rest cases are absolutely reasonable, trust me. See below.
1. Tabs, tabs, tabs... Dudes, I constantly get e-mails with the following content:
- "You're dumb" - "Fucking idiots! I made that tab/chord myself and it took a lot of time!" - "You reject the only accurate tab" (btw, the tab was for Blink 182's 'Mutt', exact the same as our 2nd version of bass tab. And that's not the only example) - "Fuck you guys."
etc. etc. etc....
What can I say? Guys, be more attentive when you "spend ages to tab the song!"
First of all try to search the tab on UG. Most likely we already have the perfect version(s). No? Your one is much better? Then you are welcome! But be sure that your tab is not the copy of the one that already in our archive with a minor changes. All your minor corrections you should post in the tab's comment section! Or contact author to let him/her know that his/her work has to be updated (if your corrections are really valid).
Next, do not submit intro, outro, verse, chorus, breakdown etc. when we already have a FULL version(s), especially if your part is exact the same as one tah's in 'our' tab! YES, that happens here and there. People just copy and paste the parts from UG and submit them. That makes me mad!
Then, watch the layout of your tabs!!! Use our templates. Always check the spaces, remove all the unnecessary. Look at the examples below:
And the last, if your tab was rejected, but you absolutely sure that I'm mistaken -- please, re-submit it, most likely I approve your tab )
2. Reviews, reviews, reviews.... First of all -- UG is an official web source, where people should find the correct, detailed information about the products they are interested in. Our reviews are not your blog entries, so please, don't do the following:
- Don't post "!!!!!!!!!!!" - Don't post "??????" - Don't post "....." - Don't post any smiles (emo icons) ))) - Don't break your reviews to a huge amount of paragraphs - Don't type with CAPS LOCK (except you post an abbreviature) - Observe the grammar, spelling and punctuation!
Also, try to make your reviews as detailed as possible. Do not send us just a couple of sentences. If you have nothing to say except for "That's amazing! I love this CD! Metallica ROCK!!!" -- don't submit your "works." Save your time as well as mine!
Well, here are some examples of how the reviews should be composed:
BUT!! There are enough writers who regularly send us their perfectly composed reviews. There's no need even to correct anything. And I'm going to post "Top UGers' Reviews" weekly (every Friday, I hope). So you'll get the first one soon!
Thanks to everybody for respect and understanding!
