Those new Zombie cover's mark the beginning of a new era of recording for me. I've finally purchased a nice sound card. It's a Creative X-FI, so I can now record in DVD quality. I can now plug my guitars directly into my sound card. Giving me perfect sound quality.
This is a video I whipped up last night. It explains every note and how to play'em! So sit back, grab your guitar, and try to master Joe Satriani's Midnight.
I started out on Atreyu's Bleeding Mascara sweep solo early this morning. The sweep picking is played 265 bpm on the tab. So I started at 100. I started speeding it up by 10bpm if I played through it twice without mistake. After 2hrs I was up to 170, and it sounded pretty crappy. So I went to bed. I've been battleing this cold for a couple days now. So I woke up 2hrs later coughing on God knows what. Anyway. I started back up again at 140bpm. It came out quite smoothly. So I started bumping it up. Eventually, I made it up to 265bpm. It sounded pretty good by then. I'd miss a string or hit the bass G string on the way back up the neck, but other then occassional flub. I had it.
I'm going to wait another hour or 6 before I post a recording in my skillz section.
-Dj (maybe I'll be able to play it 320 or something by tonight )
