From what I've gathered what you were saying about Dirk being more interested in the funk stuff is right, but I think he also largely refused to write material for songs like 11a.m. because he didn't like that stuff so Mikey ended up writing his parts for him. Dunno if thats true or not. I also gathered (somehow) that he used to make fun of Brandon's lyrics because they were a bit - sappy (I actually agree sometimes, he goes too far) but that isn't OK and if this i the case then its good they got rid of him. Anyway, I loved ACLOTM, and parts of Light Grenades, but I just don't think they will ever get the perfection of songs like The Warmth, Clean, 11a.m, Just a Phase, Vitamin, Redefine. But then again, I still love them and it will be interesting to see how Mikey's studies will benefit the band, and to see how they grow and change this time.

Well thank you very much for your kind comments Dirklance. I'm still a novice at recording and suffer badly from 'Red Light Fever'! As soon as its recording I'll mess up something so I kind of have to make compromises in certain areas or I'd never get anything finished lol! I think your referring to All My Life with the Gm part when two guitar tracks are out of sync. I should re-do some of them really.

hey man. i'm exactly the same way...when it comes to the idea that you can play many things different ways. I get comments on tabs all the time that are exacty the same notes but just played on different strings and it kinda bugs me because it's all the same anyway, but it's there if they think it's better to play it that way, then it's totally fine.

but as for the correction, i didn't mean to be picky or anything, but I guess that's just how I roll. I wish you luck in the future on your tabs and/or other contributions to UG.

Can i say that you did a good job on your mini solo (with the final notes being played as a slide) and i would like my name taken out of your tab because i think you've done a lot with it and is different to mine, however i will be happy to put your name in my tab if that will end this little dispute.

p.s. would you mind if i changed my solo to have the slide in it i have honestly just watched a video on their site and seen that it is played that way, check it out for yourself if you want, its called "gives you hell perfomance version" i think...

What can i say? 1st, i was never bothered about having myself mentioned for "credit" in your tab and if you don't like it then please by all means take it out! My tab was incomplete so i decided to finish the parts so people dont waste their time looking at my tab and in the second verse i knew you hadnt got it right and when i watched it played live on youtube i could roughly see where it was played and i pulled it together, the 2 tabs do not sound the same. I admit that the only part i took ideas from your tab was during the bridge which is still slightly different. would you like me to put your name in the tab?
To be honest i dont see what the big deal is about, its only a frickin tab! (and mine kicks ass)

Hey no worries about the Gives You Hell tab, you did a good job! I guess i was just annoyed at first when i saw the part of my tab used in yours, but even you've got to admit that it was pretty good solo tab from me in the first place, (even though it only lasts about 10 seconds). Its hard to get those extra little pieces when they're kinda distant sounding but you made quite an accurate tab, its just i prefer to play the song in different ways.
By the way; check out the pre-chorus in my tab and see what you think!

In most places the laws have some leniency. It's only disgusting and wrong when the age difference is large, people have no problem with a 17 year old and an 18 year old coupling up. In contrast a 43 year old and a 17 ear old is hideous.

The laws have to be there for such cases, but there is always leniency. It's not black and white as you portray it. Anyway, I shall desist, I never even meant to start this debate. I was just trolling.
